Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents, however, it is not true.
Communication(沟通) is a problem for parents and children of all ages. If it’s hard for you to communicate with your parents, don’t worry about it. Here is some 1 for you to bridge the generation gap(消除代沟).
Don’t argue with your parents. Don’t get to your parents when you are 2 . Your parents probably won’t consider your idea if you are shouting at them. And you can’t express yourself well. Go someplace to cool off. Make sure you understand why you are unhappy. Then 3 what you want to say to your parents. If you don’t think you can speak to them at the moment, try writing a letter.
Try to reach a compromise(和解). Perhaps you and you parents disagree on 4 . You can keep your disagreement and try your best to accept each other. Michael’s mother didn’t agree with him about buying a motorcycle. They argued over it. But they finally came to a compromise. Michael bought the motorcycle, but only drove it on certain days.
Of course, your parents might refuse(拒绝) to compromise. In these situations, it is especially important to express love and respect to them. 5 respect will keep your relationship strong.
Talk about your values(价值). The values of your parents are probably 6 those of your own. Tell your parents 7 you care about, and why. Understanding your values might help them see your purposes in life.
A good relationship with your parents can make you a better and happier person. It is worth having a try!

Less than a few months ago, few people knew Susan Boyle, a British singer who took part in Britain’ Got Talent(英国达人), a competition on TV. She became world famous on 11 April 2009 as soon as she appeared in the show.
Videos of Boyle---- from the show, have been watched over 100 million times, an online record, making it one of the most watched videos on the Internet in recent times. And Internet has widely spread the word about Susan’s performance. So just what is it about Susan that the people find so attractive (迷人的) Some people say it is the fact she is such a class act. However, others think that she got her biggest success because of her amazing persona (角色).
Susan’s appearance(外表) have been somewhat out of date. But her beautiful voice and wonderful performance have made many people feel shame of judging(判断) a book by its cover. With her middle-aged looks, Susan is perhaps the most unlikely star to be discovered. However, she got the second place in the final show, only behind a dance group.
She must be pleased when she felt the audience’s cheerful support.
Boyle’s first album(唱片), I Dreamed A Dream, was released (发行) on 23 November 2009, and has become Amazon’s best-selling album. The album also includes You’ll See, I Dreamed a Dream, Memory and Cry Me a River.
