情态动词Can的用法
Can是一个常见的情态动词,表示说话人的语气或情态,基本意思是“能;会”。它没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能单独作谓语,其后必须跟实义动词原形。can的否定形式为can not/can’t/cannot;过去式为could,其过去否定形式为could not/couldn’t。
情态动词Can有以下常见用法:
1. 表示能力
情态动词can一般指体力、知识、技能等方面的能力,即“能够;会”。
例:我哥哥会游泳,但是我不会。
My brother can swim but I can’t.
2. 表示许可
多用在口语中,表示请求或允许,意为“可以;能够”等。用于疑问句中用来提出要求,用于否定句中表示不允许。
例:我可以用你的钢笔吗?

3. 表示推测
情态动词can表示推测时,常用于否定句或疑问句,意为“(不)可能”。用于肯定句中表示理论上的可能性,意为“有时会”。
例:这里的春天有时可能会非常冷。

4. 表示邀请
情态动词can除了表示能力、许可或猜测之外,还可以表示邀请;could较can更礼貌、委婉。表示邀请时的用法如下:
(1)当用情态动词can发出邀请时,用一般疑
问句Can+主语+动词原形+其他?
例:你能来参加我的聚会吗?

(2)当用情态动词can发出邀请时,其回答分
为两类。一类表示接受邀请,另一类表示
拒绝邀请。

情态动词有:may/might, can/could, must, have to,
shall/should, will/would, ought to,
need, dare, used to
1. 不能独立作谓语,只能和动词原形一起构成谓语,
表示说话人的语气和情态。
2. 没有人称和数的变化。 (have to除外)
3. 否定形式:在其之后加not (have to除外)。
 疑问形式:情态动词提到主语之前 (have to 除外)。
都可表示“许可” 。may用于较正式、
客气的场合,而can比较随便(口语)。

(2) May/Can I/we… 表示征询对方许可。
Can you… 表示请求。

(3) 都可表示“可能性”

(1) can = am/is/are able to
= shall/will be able to
① No one can do it. = No one is able to do it.

=Will you be able to come tonight
2. can/be able to 
have to 后接动词原形;have to有人称、数和
时态的变化, 其第三人称单数形式为has to,其
疑问形式和否定形式要借助于助动词do, does
或did来完成。
3. have to的意思是“必须、不得不”, 往往
强调由于客观原因而必须做某事。
我们不得不在家照顾我们的妹妹。
We have to look after our sister at home.
明天早上他必须早起吗?
Does he have to get up early tomorrow morning
今天我不必呆在家里。
I don’t have to stay at home today.
例:
(1) 这4个情态动词没有人称的变化,而have to有,
它的第三人称单数为“has to” 如:
He should study hard.
He has to study hard.
4. 情态动词“have to”与其他的情态动词如 “can”,
“may” “must” 和 “should” 不同。
例: 他能和我们一起去吗?
他不能和我们一起去。
(2) 这4个情态动词在一般疑问句中将它们放在
句首,在否定句中直接在他们后边加not即可。

He can’t go with us.
而“have to”要加助动词do , does或did才可能
完成其疑问句、否定句。
I don’t like this TV set. I must buy a new one.
This TV set doesn’t work. We have to buy a new one.
5. must/have to
must表示主观“必须”;have to表示客观
需要,即“不得不” 。
1. Thank you for (ask/ asking), but I can’t go to the movies with you.
