主题语境： 人与自我——学习英语、探索英语

本课文以幽默、风趣的笔触例举并评价了英语中让学习者迷惑不解的“疯狂”
现象，从而反映了英语的趣味性、多样性、创造性和吸引力。
学情分析：
大部分学生已经掌握一定的语言技能和阅读技能,对英语这个话题比较熟悉， 但是在理解和整合知识，归纳主旨大意等能力上较弱。
教学目标：
1.学生通过对标题和图片的推理判断，预测课文内容并通过略读，能够获取 课文大意，根据课文内容准确理解作者的写作意图；
2. 学生通过精读，能够获取重要信息，正确梳理信息之间的关系；
3. 学生通过思考理解英语的奇妙之处，理解英语词汇背后蕴藏的文化内涵， 并就此发表自己的观点；
4. 学生能够基于课文内容，联系自己的英语学习实践，树立正确的英语学 习观，培养对英语学习的信心和兴趣。
教学重点：
感受英语的幽默，疯狂和创意，引导学生思考英语的特点。。
教学难点：
引导学生根据文章的标题、图片等元素预测文章主题和分析文章写作目的，
培养这一阅读策略与技能。
教学资源： 教材，多媒体，学案等。

Step 4 Read and Check 1. T ask the Ss to read the passage and underline the sentences that show the author’s opinion. 2. According to the opinions to conclude the purpose in writing the passage Train students’ reading skills of getting the author’s purpose and main ideas. 9mins CW\IW
Step 5 Read again and Finish Activity4/5 1. T asks Ss to complete the notes with words from the passage in Activity 4. 2. T asks Ss to share their answers and give the reasons. 3. T asks Ss to read activity 5 to find the origins of the words. Guide the Ss to explore English and why it is creative, crazy and interesting. 15mins CW\IW
Step 6 Find out Similar Examples in Chinese T guides Ss to find out the some Chinese examples according to the rules. Let the Ss know Chinese is as interesting, creative and crazy as English. CW/GW 5mins
Step 7 Discuss in Groups T asks Ss to discuss the two Qs: 1.Do you agree with the author’s opinion about English language Give your reasons. 2.How to face the craziness, complexity and creativity of English 1. Guide the Ss to take a flexible attitude, be open-minded and keep on exploring the reasons behind a language. 2. Train Ss’ ability to use language in their real life IW 5mins
