Unit 2 This is my sister.
单元教材内容:
本单元的主题是“家庭生活”,围绕这一主题进行一系列的交际活动,使学生掌握家庭成员的称谓,学会介绍家庭成员并辨别人物之间的关系;能根据照片向他人介绍自己的家人的简单表达方式。作为本单元的第一课时,主要是让学生学会表述家庭成员的称谓,学会用特殊疑问句来询问家人的称谓和介绍家人。课型为听说课。

Period 1 Section A (1a—2d)
一、教学内容:1a—2d
二、教学目标:
1. 掌握家庭成员的称谓;
2.能用 who引导到特殊疑问句来询问家人的称谓;运用指示代词this, that, these, those介绍自己的家庭成员;
3.引导学生正确理解家庭的真正意义,教育学生体贴父母,关爱家人。
三、教学重点:
1.掌握家庭成员的称谓。
2.能够简单介绍人物关系:This / That is… These / Those are…。
3.能够指认人物关系:Who is he/ she He /She is….Is this / that… Yes, it is. No, it isn’t.
四、教学难点:
1.介绍家庭成员时对名词单复数与谓语一致性的正确使用。
2. Is this / that… 肯定否定回答时代词的使用。
五、教学准备:课文录音、多媒体课件、知识卡片和动画My Family等其他评测资源。
六、教学过程:
Step 1. Warming up
Greetings and revision.
1. Greetings
T: How are you What’s your name Nice to meet you! What's your telephone number etc.
2. Let some Ss show their ID cards.
T: What's your first name What's your last name What's your telephone number
3. Let Ss introduce their ID card information to the class.

Step 2. Lead-in
Show a video: My Family
Let the students perceive new words from the context.
Step 3. Presentation

T: We know Xia Yu has a happy Family. Now let’s come into his family. Who is this

2. Show Ssother photos and teach the new words by the same way.

3. Work on 1a. Let Ss look at the picture in 1a. Then read the words on the left side. Then match the words with the people in the picture.

Step 4. Listening (1b)
T: A boy is talking about his family. Who is he talking about Now listen and circle the people the boy talks about.
Ss: OK.
(Play the recording of 1b twice. Students work.)

Step 5. Pair work
1. Role-play the conversation in 1a.
Ss work in pairs. Role-play the conversation. Try to remember the sentence structure:

2. Look at the picture in 1a. Talk about the other people in the picture with your partner.
Using the sentence structure:
This is…; That is…; These are…; Those are…
Step 6. Listening(2a, 2b)
1. Show a knowledge card—The Different Name of the Family Members Between China and the
Western Countries
Let the students know the cultural difference between China and the western countries and
prepare for the listening activity.
2. T: Here are two girls. They are talking about the family members. Please listen to the recording of 2a in Section A and circle the family members you hear.
First let’s read the words in the box together.

(Read the words together. Then play the recording of 2a twice. Students work.)

3. Listen and match.

(Play the recording of 2b. Students work.)

Step 7. Pair work(2c)
T: You come to this home. You see a picture on the wall. There are many people in the picture. You want to know who they are. Use “—Who’s she/he —She/he is…” to find them, please. When you finish, change roles to do it. Now begin.
(Students work. Teacher walks round the classroom to see how they are doing and helps the students who need.)

Step 8. Role-play(2d)
Let students look at the picture in 2d. Ask some questions.

Good morning/afternoon/evening./Nice to meet you.
Teacher adds a sentence “Have a good day” and explain it.
(Ss read the conversation then guess who the people are. They can discuss in pairs like the following.)
2. Let some students introduce the people in the picture. They can say:
This/That is… These/Those are…
3. Let Ss read the conversation after the teacher aloud. Then work in groups of three. Practice the conversation. They may change roles as they like.
4. Ask some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.
Step 9 Homework
1. Remember the new words.
2. Try to introduce your family to your friends.
