教学目标: At the end of the class, the students will be able to: 1. read to learn different kinds of resolutions. 2.learn the new words and useful expressions. 3. work hard to make our dream come true.
教学重点: 1. Key vocabulary: able, question, meaning, discuss, promise, beginning, improve, physical, themselves, self-improvement, hobby, weekly, schoolwork... be able to, have to do with, at the beginning of, make promises, have something in common, write down, for this reason, take up... 2. Key sentences: a. When we make resolutions at the beginning of the year, we hope that we are going to improve our lives. b. Some people promise themselves they are going to start an exercise program or eat less fast food.
教学难点: Learn to make plans for future time.

Step 1 Preview (PPT 3-5) Show the new words and expressions for Ss to preview. 检查本节课的单词预习情况。
Step 2 Lead-in (PPT 6-7) 1. Show a poet about dreams for Ss to read. 2. Lead in 2a. 引导学生阅读一首关于梦想的诗歌,激发学生的学习兴趣,导入2a。
Step 3 Pre-reading (PPT 8) Work on 2a. 1. Make Ss discuss the questions with their partners. Did you make any resolution last year Were you able to keep them Why or why not 2. Call some Ss to say something about the resolutions. 讨论并回答这些问题,激发学生对2b的好奇。
Step 4 While-reading (PPT 9-15) Work on 2b,2c,2d. 1. Read the instructions in 2b to the class. 2. Make Ss scan the passage. Ask Ss to put a mark in contents that are unfamiliar to them. Then lead Ss to learn the passage sentence by sentence. Pay attention to the key words and phrases. 3. Ss match each paragraph with its main purpose in the small box. 4. Check the answers. 5. Write the letters [A-D] in the correct places in the passage. 3. Work on 2d. Answer the questions with short sentences. 4. Read the answers. 5. Make Ss read the passage again. Be sure to know the main purpose for each paragraph. Before that,Ss look through the four sentences numbered[A-D]. 6. Ss complete the task in 2c.Make each sentence go in right paragraph. 7. Check the answers. 8. Ask Ss to answer the seven questions with short sentences individually. 9. Choose 1 or 2 students to give answers. 本部分是课文细读部分。阅读之后完成任务。通过问题设计,让学生带着问题阅读,使他们把握文章的重要信息。
Step 5 Post-reading (PPT 16-19) Have a discussion about resolutions. 2. Read the passage again, finish the tasks. 3. Check the answers. 根据课文设计了讨论题,以此训练学生们的逻辑思维和英语表达能力。
Step 6 Practice (PPT 20-23) Work on 2e. Find the phrases in the passage. Then write down your own sentences with them. Fill in the blanks to retell the text. Retell the passage. 此处是对2b课文的拓展练习。通过复述课文使学生熟练运用该文的重点句型和结构。
Step 7 Language points (PPT 24-31) 1. Explain the usage of words and phrases: beginning, eat/have, have to do with 2. Ask Ss to read the language points so that they can understand the language points deeply. 通过举例、对比等方式使学生加深对等单词用法和等结构的理解。
Step 8 Summary (PPT 32) 1.Ask Ss to sum up the key phrases. 2. Read and write them. 通过总结重点短语培养学生的分析和概括能力。
Step 9 Exercises (PPT 33-34) Practice the language points by these exercises. 通过完成单词和词形填空等形式练习所学的语言点。
Step 10 中考链接 (PPT 35) Practice the phrases: promise to do 精选了promise to do结构的中考题,使学生了解这个结构在中考中的重要地位。
