Teaching tips:
本课时为形容词和副词的级的形式以及用法。比较难处理的是教材中同时出现形容词和副词的比较级形式的构成和用法,同时在2b中又出现“as ... as ...”同等程度的比较,处理不好课堂教学思路将会很凌乱,学生会混淆不清,这是要努力克服的问题。
老师们在呈现比较级时如果以图示法或数据表达法来引导理解则更为确切,更容易理解。
如:学习taller, shorter: 选三人身高:A--1.8m, B--1.98m, C--1.66m, A就作为参照(A is tall) ,所以B is taller, C is shorter.
教学建议:
按形容词比较级、副词比较级、以及同等程度比较分类分步进行呈现。

2) Each student compares himself/herself with Tina, using comparatives.

1) We use -er /more ~ for short adjs or advs ( one syllable):
cheap --- cheaper, thin --- thinner, fast --- faster, ...
2) We also use -er/more ~ for two-syllable adjs or advs that end in -y:
lucky --- luckier, early --- earlier, ...
3) We use more ~ for longer adjs or advs (two syllables or more):
beautiful --- more beautiful, carefully --- more carefully, ...
4) Some adjs and advs have irregular comparative forms:
good/well --- better, bad /badly --- worse, ...
