so ... that“如此……以至于”，引导结果状语从句。so修饰形容词或副词。常见结构：① so+形容词 / 副词+that从句；

② so+形容词+a(n)+单数可数名词+that从句。

③ so + many/much/few/little + that从句
There are so much work to do that everybody got bored.
so that“为了；以便”，引导目的状语从句。“因此；所以”，引导结果状语从句。

afraid用作形容词，“害怕的；畏惧的”，在句中只能作表语。含afraid的常用结构有：
be afraid of sb. / sth. “害怕某人 / 物”。
e.g. I’m afraid of my mother.

be afraid of doing/to do sth. “害怕做某事”。
e.g. Mona is afraid of walking / to walk
at night alone.
