Tourists diving (潜水) in the beautiful sea near Cancun, Mexico, might not believe their eyes. That’s because there are lots of sculptures (雕像) of men, women and children about 8 metres underwater.
In fact, there are more than 500 life-size sculptures. They are collections of M.U.S.A. (Museo Subacuático de Arte), an underwater museum and one of the largest art projects in the world. British artist Jason deCaires Taylor created the museum.
The sea near Cancun is one of the most visited bodies of water in the world. It welcomes over 750,000 visitors a year, which places huge pressure (压力) on the natural environment there.
Taylor hopes to call for people to pay more attention to the environment, and he decided to do it through art. “It is named a museum for a simple reason. Every day we pollute (污染) and overfish our seas, while museums are places of preservation (保护) and education. They are places where we keep things that have great value to us,” Taylor said.
Among the sculptures, about 90 were of people from the neighbouring fishing village of Puerto Morelos. It looks like they are protecting their sea.
The sculptures cover an area of over 420 square metres. There used to be nothing on the seabed. However, today, the museum becomes a coral reef structure (珊瑚礁结构体) for sea lives to live in.

If you want to travel on holiday, the very first question you must ask is, “How much is it going to cost ” With little money, you are not going to get very far. Backpacking (背包旅行) is a very popular way to travel because it doesn’t cost much.
From the latest newspaper reports, however, it seems that many young people have found a different way to see the world. Most of them come from Western countries. They usually fly to an Asian country from their home, and then try to beg (乞讨) for money once they arrive. In other words, they want others to pay for the rest of their trip. It is so popular that it has been given its own name: begpacking.
It is now quite usual to see begpackers sitting in the streets in some of Asia’s popular shopping areas. They carry handwritten cards with them to ask for help. “I am travelling around Asia without money. Please help me.”
The latest reports show that some countries are getting tired of begpackers. A law ( 法律) has been passed in Thailand. The government can now take action (采取行动) against any foreigner begging in the street. The same thing has happened in Indonesia. There, begpackers are taken by the police to their foreign embassy (大使馆) and are returned to their home.
Begpackers may get lucky and raise enough money to enjoy a comfortable trip. But travelling halfway across the world to beg in the street and see nothing seems to be a strange choice. Will begpacking become more popular or go out of sight over time What’s your opinion
71. Backpacking is a popular and _____________ way to travel.
72. Begpackers usually go to an Asian country by _____________ and start to beg as soon as they arrive.
