Unit 1 My family always go somewhere interesting
as soon as the holiday begins.

【教学过程】
Step 1 Warming-up : show some pictures about public holidays
Ask: Do you know these Public holidays?Tell me loudly, please!
Step 2 To learn the new words
1. Show a picture to the class and ask :
Which public holiday is this When is the National Day In China
2. Show a passage about the National Day.
It’s National Day. It is on 1st October. The People’s republic of China was founded on 1st October 1949 . We have celebrated it since then. There are national flags and flowers everywhere. We can take a vacation and do all kinds of activities. We have three days off. It’s the busiest season of traveling. Kids often have fun and we are all happy.
3. Let the students look at the short passage and learn the new words
4.Give the students 1 minutes, let them remember the new words .
5. Check the students’ memory. Ask them to read and spell the new words.
Step 3 Listening practice.
1. Listen and complete the sentences.
(1) Labour Day in China is on ___________________
(2) May Day in the UK is on __________________
(3) Labour Day in the US is on __________________
2. Listen and choose the best answer.
(1) What is Ling ling going to do on National Day
A. Stay at home. B. visit some friends. C. go to Bei jing.
(2) When is the Independence Day in the UK
A. It’s on 14th July. B. It’s on 4th June. C. It’s on 4th July.
(3) 3. Which holiday does Tony celebrate
A. Christmas Day. B. Labour Day. C. National Day.
Step 4 To read and learn the conversation.
1. Play the video ,ask the students to listen and read the conversation. The students watch and listen carefully .
2. Read the conversation in groups.
3. Ask some pairs to the front and voice the conversation for the whole class.
4. Read fast again and fill in the table Then check the answers
Step 5 Have a competition
Show some pictures about public holidays Ask the students to make a sentence about it
To divide the students to two groups (Boy’s group and Girl’s group ) If you make up a sentence ,you will get a red star
Which group make more sentences in two minutes , it will be the winner.
Step 6 Make up short dialogues
1. Make up short dialogues about a public holiday in pairs
2. Ask some pairs to show the dialogues to the class.
