Language points: Important sentences
1. The experiment is designed to prove whether air pressure really exists.
whether 从句在动词prove 后作宾语,即宾语从句,意为“是否”。
例如:
I asked him whether he had done it all by himself.

including 在句子中为动词的现在分词充当状语。
例如:Six people were killed in the conflict, including a policeman.
whose在句子中引导定语从句,意为“谁的”,即“a glass bottle’s ”, 在从句中作定语。
