I hoped that Sam would ____11____ them sooner or later.?
However, that expectation ___12____ when Sam showed signs of autism(自闭症)at the age of two. He had actually stopped talking before the discovery of the signs. I wanted him to ____16____ what it means to be “different” from others, and learn how to fight against the misfortune he’ll _____17_____ as I myself, his grandfather, did. I just ____18____ if I could write all that I wanted to say in the rest of my life.?

The first newspapers were written by hand and put up on walls in public places. The earliest daily newspaper was started in Rome in 59 BC. In the 700's the world's first printed newspaper was published. Europe didn't have a regularly published newspaper until 1609, when one was started in Germany.
?The first regularly published newspaper in the English language was printed in Amsterdam in 1620. In 1621, an English newspaper was started in London and was published once a week. The first daily English newspaper was the Daily Courant It came out in March 1702.
? In 1690, Benjamin Harris printed the first American newspaper in Boston. But not long after it was first published, the government stopped the paper. Ⅲ. 1. insist on坚持;consist of由……组成;persist in坚持;concentrate on集中注意力于……
accuse sb. of doing sth.
so as to和in order to均可用于句尾,表目的,它们的否定形式为so as not to和in order not to,故排除A、B两项;结合第二空格be blamed for“因……
结合时态可排除A、D两项;B项应为would be made;C项be to do sth.“注定会做某事,一定会做某事”,符合句意。

帮助某人(做)某事的表达方式:assist sb. in doing sth.=assist sb. to do sth.=assist sb. in/with sth.。
require需要,要求;inquire询问,打听;address写(收信人)姓名地址,致函;acquire a good knowledge of精通,熟知。
be delighted to do sth. 由时间状语last winter可知动作发生在过去,故排除A、B两项;而I与appoint之间为被动关系,故排除C项;D项to have been appointed为不定式的完成被动式,符合句意。
accuse sb. of doing sth.指控、控告某人做某事,charge sb. with sth., scold sb. for sth.,D项意思不对,因此选A。

It depends.

1. A occupy oneself in(doing) sth.
do a good job=do well in one’s work, 指“工作做得好”。
4. D 5. A 6. C
中”用短语be/get involved in。
be curious to do“很想做”,be curious about doing “对做……感到好奇”,由此可以认定该结构应为be curious to do。
9. A of one’s own“某人自己的”,符合题意。
10. D concentrate on 专注于;fix吸引(注意);chew on(为尝味道)不停地咀嚼;taste品尝。
12. A turn up one’s nose at 表示“对……
17. A inquire sth. of sb.“向某人询问、打听某事”。
accuse指控,控告,可构成短语accuse sb. of doing sth.。
25. B 据题意知警察指控他超速,charge与accuse都有“指控;指责”的意思,但charge与with 搭配;blame责备,与for搭配;accuse,warn都与of搭配,但warn sb. of ...
27. B 根据句意和I would be doing 可以判断本句是虚拟语气。
本题中“Not until the motorbike looked almost new”放在句首,故其主句要部分倒装。
29. D 当not only...but also...
,而应说agree with/to/on sth.,因此从句不缺宾语,而需要状语,故排除C项。
34. A on one’s own=(by) oneself“独立地”,符合题意;of one’s own“属于某人自己的”,与题意不符。
35. B feel/be curious about 意为“对……
40. C remind sb. of sth.
41. A concentrate (sth.)on sth.
43. A admit of sth.
44. D concentrate ...on/upon...
49. C 表示否定意义的词或者词组not, no, few, little, hardly, scarcely, never, no longer, by no means 等置于句首时,其后要用倒装句式;结合问句可知,应用现在完成时。

C项如果改为On condition that也正确。
3. C be supposed to do sth.
5. B get involved with为固定搭配,意思是“涉足,关注”;第二个空用介词for表示“为了……”。
8. A admire sb. for sth.
10. D discover“发现”;recover“恢复”;uncover“揭露”;cover“报导,采访”。
11. B cover“行过(路程)”;recover“恢复”。

13. D give in“屈服”,为不及物动词短语,后面不能跟宾语;give up“放弃”;submit to “屈服”。
14. A be eager for 为固定用法,意思是“渴望”;B项应该改为longing,long for也有“渴望”的意思;没有hope for sb. to do sth.
16. D be ambitious of“渴望”;worried“担心的”;anxious “担忧的”;be eager for “渴望”。

not only…but also连接两个并列分句时,如果not only放在句首,倒装部分只是not only引导的分句,but also所在分句不采用倒装语序。

26. C bring to mind“想起,记起”;make up one’s mind 后面通常接不定式,意思是“下定决心做某事”;没有learn in heart的搭配,learn by heart有“记住”的意思;keep in mind意为“记住”。
27. B when和while引导时间状语从句;during为介词;meanwhile为副词,意思是“在此期间”。
That’s OK. 和It doesn’t matter. It/That depends.
30. A the tricks of the trade
32. C as long as“只要”;in order that“目的是”,引导目的状语从句时,主、从句的主语须一致;in case“万一,以防”;so that“以便”。
case通常和介词in搭配,因此用in which case 引导非限制性定语从句。
34. A A、B、C三项均有“指控,指责,责备”的意思,但搭配不同,分别为accuse sb. of, charge sb. with和scold sb. for; curse at sb./sth.
35. C accuse sb. of或charge sb. with 为固定搭配,意思是“控告某人……”。
36. A on purpose“故意地,有意地”;by accident“偶然地,意外地”。
37. C in order to和so as to都可引导目的状语,但礼物是“被收到”,因此应该用动词不定式的被动语态,故答案为C项。
39. C 根据语境,可首先排除D项,unless为“除非”的意思;A、B两项后面跟动词原形;in order that后面跟从句,意思是“为了”。
40. D in a dilemma为固定搭配,意思是“左右为难”;at a loss也是固定搭配,意思是“困惑,不知所措”;B项形式不对,应该改为wondering。

43. D publish, put out 和come out 都有“出版”的意思,但publish和put out为及物动词(短语),应该使用被动语态,come out 为不及物动词短语。
44. C accuse sb. of “因……
45. A concentrate on“全神贯注于”;be/get absorbed 通常和介词in搭配。
46. A not only…but (also)连接两个并列分句,not only位于句首时,其所在分句采用部分倒装语序。
47. A so as to和in order to 同义,均可引导不定式作目的状语,但so as to不放在句首;deny和refuse都有“否认;拒绝”的意思,但deny后常接动名词,refuse后常接不定式作宾语。
的习惯”,可用form/get into/acquire a habit of,结合句中的时间状语since his childhood,应用现在完成时。

An Open Letter to an Editor
I had an interesting conversation with a reporter recently---one who works for you. In fact, he's one of your best reporters. He wants to leave.
Your reporter gave me a copy of his resume (简历) and photocopies of six stories that he wrote for you. The headlines showed you played them proudly. With great enthusiasm, he talked about how he finds issues (问题), approaches them, and writes about them, which tells me he is one of your best. I'm sure you would hate to lose him. Surprisingly, your reporter is not unhappy. In fact, he told me he really likes his job. He said he has a great assignment (分工), and you run a great paper. It would be easy for you to keep him, he said. He knows that the paper values him. He appreciates the responsibility you've given him, takes ownership of his profession, and enjoys his freedom.
So why is he looking for a way out?
He talked to me because he wants his editors to demand so much more of him. He wants to be pushed, challenged, coached to new heights.
The reporter believes that good stories spring from good questions, but his editors usually ask how long the story will be, where it can be played, and what the budget is.
He longs for conversations with an editor who will help him turn his good ideas into great ones. He wants someone to get excited about what he's doing and to help him turn his story idea upside down and inside out, exploring the best ways to report it. He wants to be more valuable for your paper. That's what you want for him, too, isn't it?
So your reporter has set me thinking.
Our best hope in keeping our best reporters, copy editors, photographers, artists—everyone—is to work harder to make sure they get the help they are demanding to reach their potential. If we can't do it, they'll find someone who can.
36. What does the writer think of the reporter?
A. Optimistic. B. Imaginative.
C. Ambitious. D. Proud.
37. What does the reporter want most from his editors in their talks?
A. Finding the new value of his stories.
B. Giving him financial support.
C. Helping him to find issues.
D. Improving his good ideas.
38. Who probably wrote the letter?
A. An editor. B. An artist.
C. A reporter. D. A reader.
39. The letter aims to remind editors that they should __________.
A. keep their best reporters at all costs
B. give more freedom to their reporters
C. be aware of their reporters' professional development
D. appreciate their reporters' working styles and attitudes

Who says Americans worship the almighty dollar? It's not true. Having enough free time is more important to most Americans than being rich, according to a new poll.
Only 13 percent of more than 2,400 people questioned in the telephone poll ranked being wealthy as most important to them, while 67 percent ranked free time as their top priority, higher than having a successful career, getting married, and having children. "Everyone wants free time to do the things they want to do, young, middle-aged or old," said Richard Morin, of the Pew Social & Demographic Trends Project, which conducted the survey. "So our desire to play unites us. "
The poll also showed that people who were university educated valued career success over wealth, so did middle-aged people. Not surprisingly, those who didn't have money, ranked wealth very highly. This included minorities, first generation Americans and less educated people. The survey also revealed that a disproportionate(不成比例的) number of people under the age of 30 and retirees in the group made $20,000 or less a year. But the emphasis on wealth lessens with age, with younger people putting value on it but hardly any seniors. "It just diminishes with time as the reality sets in that you would never be rich," Morin said. "But also, the reality sets in that you don't have to be rich to lead a very comfortable and fulfilling life. "
While wealth was not at the top of people's list of priorities, 43 percent still said it was somewhat important.

A. success in career B. education level
C. wealth D. comfort
47. The underlined word "diminishes" in the third paragraph probably means __________.
A. increases B. decreases
C. changes D. stays

Researchers, policy makers and activists are busy preparing for the International AIDS Conference. The next conference begins Sunday in Vienna, Austria. On Tuesday, the Obama administration announced its National HIV/AIDS Strategy. The plan aims to reduce new HIV infections by twenty-five percent within five years. It also aims to make sure infected patients get treatment more quickly.
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. The government says sixty-five percent of Americans who discover they are infected get treatment within three months. The new plan calls for increasing that to eighty-five percent. Thirty million dollars from the health care reform law is to go to support prevention activities, including expanded HIV testing.
Over one million Americans are living with the virus, out of an estimated thirty-three million people worldwide.
Last week, government scientists in the United States announced the discovery of two antibodies (抗体)that raise hopes for an AIDS vaccine(疫苗). They say these antibodies can stop more than ninety percent of all known strains of HIV. Antibodies are proteins that the body makes to help protect itself against infection. Researchers made the discovery at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The director of its Vaccine Research Center, Gary Nabel, says each antibody blocks the virus from attaching to white blood cells.
The UN AIDS agency gives credit to proper measures. It says young people in Africa are waiting longer to have sex. They are also having fewer sexual partners. And they are increasingly using condoms(安全套). The agency says with the methods HIV rates are falling in sixteen of the twenty-five hardest-hit countries in Africa.

You will make it. Go right ahead.说吧,做吧;Don’t mention it.不客气;Take it easy.
8. C 9. A
charge sb. with sth.与accuse sb. of sth.
Ⅱ.16. B 前面的an unpleasant voice and a direct way of speaking与后面的encouraging and inspiring之间是转折关系,因此需填转折连词。
know nothing about sth.
22. C 解题线索在后半句“so I began to show up to paint more and more”。
迷惑性最大的是again,表示“再一次、又一次”,但是放在这里与over意思重复,paint over it later相当于paint it again,故不选A。
26. A improve upon改进。
28. B be recognized as“被公认为,被承认是”。introduce“介绍,引入”,be identified as“被确定是”,有验证身份的意思,be considered as“被认为,被当作”。
30. A being with sb. Neidl是“one of the directors”,所以不能说是她的团队。
33. D be afraid害怕。
34. A trust信任。
Ⅲ. 36~40 CDACC 41~45 DABDC
46~50 ABBCA
Ⅳ.51. accused 52. photographed
53. professional 54. admirable
55. dilemma 56. edition
57. process 58. gifted
59. concentrate 60. appointment
Ⅴ. One possible version:
My dear classmates,
There is no denying that safety plays an important part in our daily life. Recently our school has carried out a program aimed at making our campus a safe place to stay in.
I consider this as indeed a good practice, which will make us aware that safety should always come first in our daily life, whether when we stay at school or outside it. When we are doing sports, we should attach importance to the safety and avoid being hurt. Furthermore, when we get into trouble with our classmates, we should remain calm and avoid any form of fighting, which may only bring suffering and pain to us mentally and physically.
As far as I’m concerned, I feel all the students and teachers should work hard and creatively to keep the “safety at school”activity in mind. Besides, we are supposed to observe the law discipline where we are at any moment.
That’s all. Thank you.

A
Here I am on Earth—the Blue Planet. Well, what was once a blue planet is now a dying planet. I cannot study the Earth without being disturbed by its prime inhabitants(居民)—humans—strange creatures, indeed. Being from another galaxy(星系),I am not used to the ways of “man” as they call themselves—strange in itself, for half the population are women. Either way, woman or man, there are too many of them! They have shaped poor Earth to their convenience and greed, caring little of the consequences. The Earth’s land is being reduced, the climate is being changed, and there is too much waste and no room left to put in. Even the beautiful rain forests, the Earth’s claim to fame(出名之处),are being destroyed.
I haven’t told you about the other creatures on Earth, have I? Oh, the poor creatures—the poor animals living under the foolish control of human beings. There are few wild, free animals left, for humans long ago had the idea that if they “tamed(驯养)”and caged the animals, they could make life even more convenient for themselves. Humans eat animals and even wear animals—their leather and fur can be seen draped(披)around the average person’s body without a second thought to where it came from.
I have been to other planets, but never have I seen such creatures with such disrespect for their environment and the other creatures sharing it with them. All the killing of the animals and the wasting of the environment have led to hate among them. And then they dare to use the word “humane” as meaning kind, tender, merciful and sympathetic.
It is sad what is happening to the Earth. I am anxious to return home to my own planet where overpopulation, waste and global warming are only unfamiliar problems. If only humans would act “humane” towards the environment, towards the animals, towards each other—the Earth really would be a better place.
36. What makes the author consider humans to be strange creatures?
A. Humans dare to destroy the rain forests.
B. Too many humans live on a dying planet.
C. Even women are called ”man” as well.
D. Humans have produced so much waste.
37. The second paragraph mainly tells us ________ .
A. animals live together in peace with humans
B. animals make humans’ life convenient
C. humans know how to feed themselves
D. humans treat animals very badly
38. When people on Earth use ”humane”, the author feels it is ________.
A. ridiculous B. reasonable
C. interesting D. confusing
39. The author‘s main purpose in writing this passage is to ________.
A. describe an experience of traveling in space
B. expect humans to be kind to the Earth
C. discuss what problems humans are facing
D. advise people on Earth to move to other planets
B
As Joe and Michael were heading towards the Drivers License place, Michael, who was behind the wheel, froze as he heard the voice on the radio saying that a man had been murdered by a bullet that had came from the sky. He immediately drove off and went to a secret place. Later on that day, after thinking that the shot they had fired possibly wasn’t the shot that killed Mr Ward, they headed back to the Drivers License place where Michael failed the driver’s test because he could not think straight. For the next two months, Michael and Joe hid the secret that the bullet had actually shot Mr Ward.
During this time, Jenna Ward started to realize life without her father. While Jenna mourned the death of her father, a strange boy started to appear at the front steps of the church across the street from her house. After many nights of watching this boy, she finally recognized that it was Michael who was sitting on the steps every night.
After finding out where the shot came, the police were able to narrow the research area down to within a four-block area. Among these four blocks were Michael’s house and Joe’s house. When the police arrived at Michael’s house, his dad mentioned the gun that Michael, trying to be sly, told the cops that Joe had borrowed the gun. Upon this, Joe said that the gun had been stolen out of his car along with his CD player. After the police were gone, Michael met Joe at a special spot and told Joe the gun was under the wood pile in his backyard.
One day, when Michael thought the police would not come back, he came home to find the police searching his backyard. When the Sergeant(警官)went into the woods behind the house, he came out with a bullet that Joe and he had shot off on his birthday. The bullet matched the one that they had found from Mr Ward, but without the gun, the police could not place Michael as the killer.
With the pressure mounting, Michael finally broke down and realized he had to give up. On a Saturday morning, he went to Jenna’s house to confess to her and her mother and then turned himself in.

The 300-year-old tradition of pinning candidates’ exam scores to a board outside the University of Cambridge’s Senate House is to be changed after a lengthy student campaign. Undergraduates have argued for several years that the practice can be too upsetting for students who have underachieved, particularly when they find out second hand.
Results for some exams such as the Maths, Tripos(文学士荣誉学位考试),are even publicly read out from the balcony of the Senate House. However, from this June students will be sent an email telling them their results before they are published. They will also be able to apply to have their names and grades removed from the lists before it is pinned up.
Students have welcomed the move, but said they were disappointed that it had not been introduced earlier. Campaigners are also angered that students will only be allowed to have themselves removed from the public lists if they can prove “exceptional circumstances” such as mental health problem.
Ant Bagshaw, education officer for Cambridge University Students’ Union(CUSU), said, “Posting the exam results is a tradition for tradition’s sake and there is no good reason in it. The big stress is other people finding out your exam results before you. There is a lot of anxiety among the students about it. It’s great news but it’s a bit late as this issue has been going on a number of years.”
A survey carried out by CUSU last year showed that the majority of students want to receive their results privately. At Oxford University students can opt out of(选择不参与) the class lists without explanation. But the rules at Cambridge say that “there must be a convincing reason such as a threat to a student’s health or well-being, in order to maintain the completeness of the class lists”.
The new rules will apply to all exams including finals, Mr Bagshaw said. The spokesman added, “Emailing doesn’t completely solve the problem but it would stop other people finding out your results first and allow those who do badly to have some time to adjust.”
Professor John Rallison, the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, said that the changes could not be put into practice until June 2010 “due to the need to consult thoroughly with departments on any possible effects”.
44. The underlined part “exceptional circumstances” in Para. 3 probably means “________”.
A. different conditions B. unusual conditions
C. changed conditions D. right conditions
45. According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?
A. The tradition of posting students’ exam results has a history of 300 years.
B. Students may feel upset once others know their exam results before them.
C. The new rules will apply to all kinds of exams, including finals.
D. The changes will be carried out before January 2010.
46. What does the author mean by “Posting the exam results is a tradition for tradition’s sake” in Para. 4?
A. The tradition of posting the exam results should not be broken.
B. Cambridge University should established a new tradition instead of the old one.
C. Cambridge University carries on the tradition just because it is a tradition.
D. The tradition of posting the exam results is welcomed by professors.
47. What can be inferred from the passage?
A. Most Cambridge University students do not want to make their exam results public.
B. Emailing the exam results can stop other people finding out your exam results.
C. Oxford University will still keep the tradition of posting students’ exam results.
D. Cambridge University will first try the new rules on some classes for some time.

Alfred W. Fielding co-invented Bubble Wrap(气泡膜) in the late 1950s. Today, Sealed Air Corporation, the company he cofounded in 1960, is a worldwide manufacturer of packaging materials with annual incomes over $3 billion. The early history of Bubble Wrap shows, for inventors, that keeping an open mind to possible applications is a clear advantage—finally, you may start out trying to invent one thing, only to hit on an even better idea.
The story begins in 1957 in a garage in Hawthorne, N.J., with two entrepreneurial engineers hard at work, Fielding and his partner, a Swiss inventor named Marc Chavannes. They were trying to invent a plastic wallpaper with a paper backing. It failed. But along the way they realized their invention could be used for packing material, thus, giving birth to what is now known around the world as Bubble Wrap, and the Sealed Air Corporation, the company that has developed and marketed it. Through its technology, Sealed Air Corporation really built a specialty chemical business in protective packaging.
Bubble Wrap is a packaging product made up of a sheet of plastic with a series of sealed air bubbles. The air bubbles are circle shaped. Its construction creates a very flexible yet durable(耐久的)protective sheet for packaging any kind of item for shipping, mailing, moving and storage. It is usually clear but is also made in specialty colors. There are types of Bubble Wrap with small circles, which are more common, or big circled, which are used mostly for bigger items.
A native of Hackensack, N.J., Fielding graduated from Stevens in 1939. He earned a master of science degree from Stevens in 1943. Stevens awarded him an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree in 1986. He is in the new Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame for his role in creating Bubble Wrap, and he was admitted into membership in the Newcomen Society of the United States in 1982. The Newcomen Society recognizes pioneers who have laid the foundations for major enterprises.
According to the passage, Bubble Wrap was invented ________.

C. in an accident D. by mistake
The main fun_ction of Bubble Wrap is to ________.
A. prevent items from being burnt
B. keep items in store for a long time
C. protect items from being damaged
D. reduce the waste of packing material

Failure is the mother of success.
You will be paid for whatever you do.

It’s not yet four a.m. and Kajese is already arriving at CCTV for another day in her job as China’s first African news presenter. Kajese is one of an increasing number of young Africans heading to China, as the country’s booming economy and ever-closer ties with African nations create opportunities as tempting as any in Europe or the United States.
China’s African community has grown greatly since it joined the WTO in 2001, with as many as 250, 000 in the country at any one time. Many are traders sourcing cheap China-made goods to sell back home. They crowd to export centers like Guangzhou where a “Little Africa” has sprung up, where you can see many African shops, restaurants, and export malls with everything from fake designer jeans to bright African textiles(纺织品). But young professionals are also finding good business in every sector(行业)from television to cutting edge entertainment.
A 28-year-old from Zimbabwe, Kajese reads the news on the top of most hours from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. On CCTV 9, China’s state-run English language channel. Despite the early starts, with half an hour in the makeup chair alone, and the stress of going live to air, Kajese says she is grateful for the chance to increase understanding.“There‘s a lot of Chinese people that might not have met many Africans, and so now is an opportunity to say ’Well, why does she speak like this or why is her hair like this?’” she said.“It’s also good that when Africans come here, they’ll know that there are opportunities for them, just like any other foreigner.”
On the other side of town, Frank is winding up his evening’s work as Kajese starts her day. The 27-year-old, who was born in Congo, came to study business in China six years ago but has ended up ruling the capital’s nightlife scene as DJ Kefra. He has been named the capital’s best DJ, and has a residency(驻留期)at one of his biggest clubs, Vic’s.“I felt the energy, the opportunity, and I felt the significance,” said Frank.“So I just decided, okay, I think I’m in the right place at the right time right now.”

2. C be supposed to do sth.
5. C the first time可以作连接词连接两个句子。
8. B 注意短语admit to having done sth.
9. C to be accurate
10. A 该题考查“employ sb. as…”
11. B “so+ adj./adv.”
12. C inform sb. of/about sth.
13. B get sth. straight
或charge sb. with sth./doing sth.。

Cambridge has overtaken Oxford as the leading UK university according to an authoritative (权威的)guide published recently.
It comes top of 113 universities for 35 of the 46 subjects for which it is ranked, compared with five for Oxford.
Cambridge is also the highest performing university for entry grades, facilities and graduate prospects (前途).
Oxford has dropped behind Cambridge — for the first time since 2001— partly because Cambridge has counted the facilities provided by individual colleges for the first time. Also Oxford is third for student satisfaction.
The guide rates Imperial College London, as third best followed by the London School of Economics and then St. Andrews, a university in Scotland which has the highest rating for student satisfaction.
The league table (名次表)judges each university on nine measures. The factors taken into account are: exam results, student satisfaction, research records, student-staff ratios, entry standards, graduate prospects, dropout (辍学学生) rates, spending on academic services and funding for other facilities.
However, for the first time students are able to customize the table by setting their own priorities. The guide allows users to weigh the significance they put on factors such as student satisfaction, entry standards or the ratio between staff and students.

Skiing(滑雪) and skating become the major(主要的) sports activities for Westerners during the winter. People from Norway, Italy, the United States, Sweden and Canada all like winter sports.

Drunken drivers could be prohibited (禁止) from driving under the influence if new technology from Nissan is introduced.
The Japanese car maker has developed a new odour (气味) detection system (侦测系统) designed to prevent drivers from operating a car if they are over the legal limit. The system works by using a series of sensors (传感器) to detect the level of alcohol the driver has consumed.
A high-sensitivity alcohol odour sensor is built into the gear stick (变速杆),which is able to detect the presence of alcohol in the perspiration (排汗) of the driver's palm as he or she attempts to start driving. If the alcohol level detected is above a pre-determined limit, the system automatically locks the transmission, immobilizing (固定不动) the car. A voice alert is also issued via the car navigation system telling the driver that they are over the limit.
Extra sensors are also placed in the driver and passenger seats and a warning is issued if these sensors detect the presence of alcohol in the air inside the vehicle cabin.
While still in the developmental stage the concept of drunken driving detectors being built into cars has generally been welcomed by many drivers.
Nissan said the technology is part of a project aimed at halving (减半) the number of fatalities (灾祸) and serious injuries in Nissan cars by 2015 compared to 2005 levels.
