I have dreamed of taking a trip to Hawaii since I graduated, but the best thing always needs waiting. I took a trip with my friends to Haleakala National Park, which lies in Hawaii.
When we arrived at Haleakala National Park, we were advised to watch the early morning sunrise. I was lost in the sightseeing that afternoon, so I could hardly wait to meet the sunrise. In the next morning, we all jumped out of the bed very early at 3 o’clock and walked to the rocks by the seaside. In the first half an hour, we imagined how wonderful it would be when the first light came out through the thick clouds and how soft it would be when the light touched our skin, so we waited and waited. However, another half an hour later, I gradually lost my patience since there was nothing but the chilly darkness, and I felt that I was frozen to death. But my friends were still extremely cheerful.
Nearly another one hour later, “Amazing!”, a word yelled out from Judy and we all shouted to welcome the light orange greatness which is really unbelievable.Until today, I dare say that it is the most impressive (印象深刻的) sunrise in my life. However, waiting in the morning darkness is also the one I can not wipe out forever.
Waiting sometimes is really a hard thing for most of us as it needs patience and strong-willed determination, but what about the result after that It might turn out to be pleasant, unbelievable and satisfactory. So, it is really worthwhile to wait for the best.
When did they see the first light of the sunrise

2. What can we learn from the passage
A. My classmates and I took a trip to Hawaii. B. Hawaii is a good place to enjoy the sunset.
C. I took a trip to Hawaii before I graduated. D.Sometimes. it is worthwhile to wait for the best.
3 .What’s the meaning of the underlined word in Para.2
A.total. B.terrible. C.cold. D.interesting.
Travel is one of the most exciting experiences a human being can have. Imagine how Italian traveler Marco Polo must have felt when he found himself on Chinese soil, seeing a way of life quite different from anything he’d seen before.
And how great must it have been to listen to Zhang Qian when he returned to China from his journey through Central Asia and West Asia His brain must have been packed with everything he’d seen and heard, leading to the founding of the Silk Road.
Some people have traveled all over the world, and travel is a way of life to them. They perhaps know what to expect before they travel. That’s why the best travel is when it’s for the first time. Imagine a person who has always wanted to travel to the United States. Of course, they’ve probably seen the Statue of Liberty a thousand times on TV, and the White House, and all the other famous sights. But nothing would compare to the thrill of looking out of the cabin window as the plane lands, watching the cities and streets of the real America come into view.
Although travel is often just for recreation, it’s also educational. We may not know that we are getting an education, but we still are.
We’re learning every day: new words in a new language, new people, and new ways of life. But this learning takes place in the school of the world, not the classroom. One of the lessons we learn is undoubtedly a moral one. As we get to know foreign places, we come to understand that there are many different ways to live, and that the way we live isn’t necessarily the best way. The British politician Benjamin Disraeli summed this up well when he said, “Travel teaches toleration.”
The writer uses Marco Polo and Zhang Qian as examples to _____ .
explain how the Silk Road was founded B. present travel as an amazing experience
C. show how the way people travel has changed D. describe important cultural exchanges in history
2.The underlined word in paragraph 4 probably means _____ .
A. learning B. knowledge C. fun D. risk
3. According to the last two paragraphs, the writer believes that _____.
A. traveling should be included in formal education
B. traveling improves people’s confidence in their lifestyle
C. a foreign journey may raise people’s cultural understanding
D. there is more to learn from adventures than being in classrooms

Holidays with friends can be great fun and a good way of getting to know each other better. Once you are on holiday, the trip can be full of fantastic memories if it’s planned correctly.
Choose a destination
1 Going abroad will cost more but be a more exciting experience. Going to a different place in your own country can also be fun and will be cheaper.
Collect your friends
Find out how much interest there is from people to go on the trip, and work out your maximum and invite those who you get on well with.
Meet up
Everyone will have their own idea of what the trip is to be like, so meet up at a local café or restaurant, and share your ideas and concerns. 2 Don’t try to overpower others. Once you’ve all shared ideas you’ll have a much better idea of how to start organizing the trip.
Look for accommodation
3 When you are searching for a place to stay in, read reviews and ratings (等级). Book it as soon as possible because leaving it too late is going to make things harder.
Book transport
Once you have accommodation, you’ll know the dates of your stay and be able to book transport, coach, bus, airplane, etc. 4
Choose things you want to do there
When you are on your trip it will be more relaxing if you have a good idea of what kind of things you want to do. Research the area on the Internet and book some activities you want to join in. 5 Don’t book a load of things which you can’t afford.
One person will naturally be the leader. Check out if your idea is necessary. The first step is to work out where you want to go. Match the activities to your budget. Booking transport well in advance lowers the cost greatly, so please do it soon. Make sure that the trip to the foreign country is not too long. Find out your hotel near to the place you want to visit.
