Teaching aims:
1. To know the famous foreign cities and places of interest.
2. Students can talk about the places of interest
3. To encourage students to do more exercise in their free time for health.
Teaching importance and difficulties:
To learn to talk about some places of interest using what they learnt in the period

Step One Warming up
T: How will you spend your National Day Holiday
Will you travel to any places
S: ….
T: And do you want to visit the places of interest in foreign countries
Purpose : To lead in Part A of welcome to the unit
1. Step Two Presentation
2. 点击向右箭头先出现一个四幅图的画面Show some pictures to teach the names of some famous places of interest , cities and countries on the screen
Present the new words and phrases while showing pictures此处让学生看图片猜地名，如果猜不出，教者即可呈现相应的地名
The Harbour Bridge
The Opera House, Sydney,Australia
The Eiffel Tower
The River Seine ，Paris France
The Golden Gate Bridge , California, the USA
The White House Washington D.C. the USA president
2.Read in the group, and correct the pronounciation.
3.Draw the lines to connect the pictures, names and cities and countries.
设计意图: To practice saying the places of interest 互动激发兴趣
Step Three Reading the postcards
1. 点击进入下一张图片出现P31A图Divide the ss into 3groups , ask each group to spend one minute reading one of the postcards and underline the names of places it mentions, and then write the correct names of cities and countries beside them.
Encourage one student come to the front and write down the answers
2. Ask students to read the postcards more carefully and answer questions: 点击下一张图片Postcard1打出带问题的屏幕
Who sent the first postcard
Which city did he go to
What did he see there 在每个问题下方都有隐藏的答案，核对时点击下方空白处即可出现答案
重复以上步奏，完成postcard 2

T: After reading the postcards from his friends , Simon searched on the Internet for some information about places around the world. Which places of interest are Simon and Amy talking about
1.Listen to the tape and try to answer: 点击耳机图标，播放录音(Present the questions on the screen )

How long is the Golden Gate Bridge (About 1.7miles)
How wide is the bridge (90 feet wide)
Present new words : wide , steel , ton
2.Read after the tape ， read and try to remember it, then fill in the blanks 点击横线上方，出现隐藏答案
