《8A Unit5 welcome to the unit》是牛津版八年级英语教材上册第五单元的第一课时,文章教会学生认识可爱的野生动物朋友,一起关注濒危动物。根据单元教学要求,引导学生朗读,学习几种野生动物的英文名称,并学会用英语谈论喜爱的野生动物。通过文章学习来增强学生保护野生动物的意识。培养学生听说读写综合技能。

本课时采取先上welcome to the unit 部分,再上comic部分的设计。运用任务型阅读方法,充分发挥学生主体作用;教师适时、适当引导和启发学生,关注学生“想不想学”、“会不会学”、“学会了没有”,从这三个维度进行设计和努力。 构建高效课堂,用图片导入提高学生学习英语兴趣,通过本节课,学生听说读写等综合技能得到提高,尤其是对话部分的教学设计为学生提供更好的拓展空间和思路。

[教学过程]
StepI.lead-in
Present plenty of pictures of animals, then ask students what is this animal
告诉学生:There are many wild animals in the world.板书并教生词wild.
StepII. Presentation
1. Answer the question.
Q: How much do you know about wild animals
eg: Where do they live What do they often eat Are they friendly
(启发学生开动脑筋,回答问题。)
2. Quiz about wild Animals
Which animal is the king in the forest
Which animal is the cleverest animal in the sea
They are a kind of horses with black and white stripes on their bodies.
Which animal is large , strong and heavy with thick fur(皮毛)
Which animal is small and lovely, but has a very big tail
Which animal looks very cute and lives only in China
( Encourage Ss to answer the names of the wild animals in English.)
Present six pictures of wild animals, read the new words. 活动结束全班学习单词:dolphin, squirrel, giant panda, zebra and tiger.( Read again.)
3.要求学生就每种动物的外形,食物,性格特点做一个简单描述。
Giant pandas are very lovely. they are black and white. They eat bamboo. most of them live in China.
(教师适当的引导学生了解关于大熊猫的知识,为reading打下基础。)
StepIII. Practice
1. Part A .write correct names under the pictures. Then read the names together.
2. Part B. Listen and fill in the form. (Ask Ss to write the key words on the Bb.)
3. D o a survey: Put a tick(√)under the animals you like best and a cross (×) under the animals you like least.

Step V presentation
listen to the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo, answer two questions.
(1)Does Eddie want to live in the wild
(2)Will Eddie eat the wild animals
(Play the tape for the Ss and ask Ss to read the words after the tape.)
2. Put the phrases into English
3. Role-play : Please act the dialogue out with the partner.
Step VI activities
1. Share a video, and then talk about the feeling after watching it.
2. Work in pairs and read the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo.
(ask three pairs to act in the front of the class)
