Language points
1. five line 是一个复合形容词,由“数词+连字符+单数名词”构成。
常见的复合形容词的结构还有:
(1)“数词+连字符+单位词+连字符+形容词”。

(2)“形容词+连字符+名词 ed”。复合形容词的特点:作定语,修饰后面的名词。
warm hearted people 热心肠的人们
bright - coloured hats 颜色鲜艳的帽子
2. single
(1) a single+单数可数名词,表示“仅有一个……”。
There was a single person in the house.
房子里有一个人。
(2) single 作形容词时,还可表示“单身的,单程的”。
How much is the single ticket to Beijing
去北京的单程票多少钱?
3. This style was created in the nineteenth century by an
American poet.
表示 “在几世纪” 时, 用 “in + the + 序数词+ century” 或 “in + the +数字 + s /’s”。
We live in the twenty-first century.
我们生活在二十一世纪。
4. Each line has a set number of words.
a set number of :一定数量的
a number of 大量,其谓语为复数;
the number of ...的数量,其谓语为单数。
Each family has a set number of children.
每个家庭都有一定数量的孩子。
5. Let’s look at another two poems as examples.

= 基数词+more+可数名词
