西方人在发表自己的看法和意见时,常用I think…表示判断、猜测等,
语气比较委婉,如:

—I think he is at home.? 我想他在家。
在I think 后面的从句里,如果含有否定意义,要在主句中表示,这叫作否定前置。如:
I don’t think Lin Tao is a policeman. 我认为林涛不是个警察。
(习惯上不说:I think Lin Tao is not a policeman.
2. the same as… “和……一样” 反义词为:be different from… “和……不同”
Brian is the same age as me.? Brian 和我一样大。
The weather in Chinese is different from that of American.

1. 怎样写日记?
▲ 格式
日记的格式为:一般在左上角顶格写当天的日期、星期;在右上角写当天的天气情况,常用形容词或名词表示。如:Sunny, Snowy, Cloudy等。然后隔一行写日记的正文,第一段第一行可顶格写,也可与以后各段开头一样前面空三、四个字母的位置。

日记可分为记叙文、议论文等。
▲ 时态
因为日记一般是记述已经发生的事情,因此用一般过去时态和现在完成时态。当然,有时也可根据实际情况运用其他时态。

but 常用意思是“但是”。在本句中是“除……之外”,同义词是except。如:

4.every与each的用法
这两个词都可用作形容词,都有“每”的意思,有时可以换用。如:
①Each(Every) student has a book. 每个学生都有一本书。
区别:
▲ each 既可用作形容词,也可用作名词。表示两个或两个以上中的“每一个”时,修饰单数名词;作为代词单独使用,后接单数动词。each 在句中可作定语,还可做主语、宾语和同位语。如:
②There are a lot of flowers on each side of the river. 河的两岸有许多花。
③Each of us has a car. 我们每个人都有一辆车。
▲ every 只能用作形容词,不指两个或少数的人或物,而是指许多人(物)的“全体”,与all意义相近。它只能作定语,在修饰单数名词时,谓语用第三人称单数。如:
④Every boy likes swimming. 每个男孩都喜欢游泳。
⑤Every man should try his best. 人人都应尽力。

5. in, by, with和use的“用”法
??? in, by, with和use都可表示“用”,但有所不同。
▲ in(介词)表示用某种语言;原材料、工具。如:
①What’s this in English? 这个用英语怎么说?
②I write in ink. 我用墨水写字。
▲ by(介词)表示通过某一方式、手段。如:
③I go to school by bike. 我骑自行车上学。
▲ with(介词)通常指使用工具、手段。如:
④We write with our right hands. 我们用右手写字。
▲ use(动词)“使用”,其宾语可以是人或物。如:
⑤May I use your ruler? 我可以用一下你的尺子吗?

1. much taller 意思是“高得多”。
形容词比较级前还可用much, a lot, a little, even等词语来修饰。如:
The sun is much bigger than the moon. 太阳比月亮大得多。
He is a little thinner than me. 他比我瘦点儿。

2.give advice to sb. 给某人提建议,也可表述为give sb. advice。如:
Please give me some good advice. 请给我一些好建议。
=Please give some good advice to me.

注意:
在报纸上用介词in 而不是on!

4. 语法
句子的种类?
英语的句子按用途分可分为四类:陈述句、疑问句、感叹句和祈使句。
陈述句包括肯定句和否定句两种基本形式。我们以前都学习过。疑问句包括一般疑问句、选择疑问句、反意疑问句和特殊疑问句四种形式。一般疑问句和特殊疑问句我们以前都接触过很多,选择疑问句课本中也有例句,反意疑问句以后我们会学到。
感叹句是表示喜、怒、哀、乐等情绪的句子,句末常用感叹号。例如:What a good boy he is! How fast that man runs! 祈使句是表示请求、命令、叮嘱和号召的句子,句末常用感叹号。例如:Come in please! Be dangerous!
英语的句子按结构来分可分为三类:简单句、并列句和复合句。我们以前学过的句子大部分是简单句,并列句和复合句我们课本中也反复出现过。
