I. 教学目标
1. 知识目标
1) 单词:hair , curly, straight, height , tall , medium , thin , heavy , build , glasses
2) 句型:--What does sb look like
--He/She is …/He/She has …
2. 能力目标
1) 学完本课,会问外貌并做答;
2) 能积极思维,运用所学单词、短语、句型,结合实际灵活运用。
3. 情感目标:让学生学会友好地描述别人的形象。
II. 教学重点:掌握本课新单词、句型以及怎样描述一个人的外貌。
III. 教学难点:掌握描述人物外貌的方法。
IV. 教学过程:
1. Lead in
We study many subjects at school.Such as Chinese,math, English ,politics,biology,geography etc.It means we have so many teachers.I’ll describe one of them,you guess who they are.For example:He is tall and thin.He always wears glesses.
He’s always strict with us.Ss may guess.It’s Mr Tang,our politics teacher.
Try again,She is of medium height,She has long straight hair,She can always make her lessons interesting.Ss may guess.It’s Miss Liu,our math teacher.(Check the answer by showing the photos on ppt).
2. Teach the new words by showing different pictures(look at the ppt),tall, short, of medium height, thin, heavy, of medium build, long/shore hair, straight/curly hair.
Read the mew words loudly.Ss can act them out as they read.
3. Look at 1a Ask three questions.
1) Where are they
2) What are the two girls doing
3) Can you describe the people in the picture
Ask Ss to finish 1a and check answers.
Look at the picture in 1a carefully and predict who they are looking for
4. Present the important Sentence pattern.
--What does he / She look like
--He/She is tall/short/of medium height.
--He/She is heavy/thin/of medium build.
--He/She has long/short hair.
5. 1b Play the tape once and finish 1b Then check the answer and find Army’s friend.
6. 1c Describe your friend.Let’s see if your partner can find him/her
A:what does your friend look like
B:She’s of medium height,and she has long seraight hair.
A:Is she a.
B:Yes,you’re right.
7. Finish 2a 2b.
Play the tape three times and check the answers.Ask the seudents watch the sentece pattern on the blackboard,And let them undeustand when to use”is”,when to use “has”.Turn to page 93.Look at the listening material and read after the tape.
8. 2C Ask students to work in pairs.
T:What does David look like Is he short or tall
S:He’s tall.
T:Is he heavy or thin
S:He’s heavy.
T:Does he have straight hair or curly hair
S:He has curly hair.
Ask a student to draw David on the blackboard.(compare the picture with the one on ppt).
9. 2d Listen to the tape and answer the following questions.
1) What are Mike and Tony doing later this evening
2) When are they meeting
3) Who is going with them
4) Where are they meeting
5) What does David look like
Present new language points.
Tonight, cinema, I may be a little late, See you later, wear glasses.
Read 2d together.
Role play the conversation.
