My family lived in a two-floor house near the forest in North America.
One evening, my sister and I were sitting together watching TV. Suddenly, I saw Dad run in with a very pale face. But he said in a calm (镇静的) voice, “Kate and Joan, a friend of mine is coming here to see me, and I wish to be alone with him. Will you go up to your own room ” It seemed that he did not want to scare us.
We got back to our room and closed the door.

Without thinking twice, I raised the pistol, and fired. I didn’t want the wolf to hurt my dad. The wolf let out an angry loud cry. Dad took the still smoking pistol from my hand at once, and fired another shot. The wolf ran away quickly.
In fact, Dad had expected to lock the door—which was twenty feet away before the animal reached it. However, the wolf was too quick!
