（一）教材分析
本课是外研社《新标准英语》九年级（上）Module5 Museums Unit 2，为阅读新授课。本单元介绍托尼最喜欢的博物馆：英国科学博物馆，通过学习本篇文章，学生能感受该博物馆与中国博物馆的不同。同时，通过托尼建议人们如果去伦敦，一定要去参观科学博物馆，学生能够感知“if从句+祈使句”连用结构表达建议。课文内容的学习也为描写最喜爱的博物馆做了铺垫。通过本单元课文的学习，学生将打破对博物馆的“固化”认识，从而感受世界上类型不同的博物馆。课程内容充实，语言功能性强，学生在学到实用的语言知识的同时，也能了解他国文化。
（二）学情分析
初三学生正值青春期，对各类事物的好奇心都不断增强，博物馆中诸多事物都与他们现在各种课程的学习息息相关，能够激起他们的学习兴趣。加之现在网络的急速发展，使得他们更加想要去了解国外的世界，他们大多都参观过我们城市的博物馆，在英语学习的过程中他们会想要了解别的国家的博物馆是什么样子，本课内容容易唤起他们的兴趣和求知欲。
（三）教学目标
1．语言知识目标
（1）语法：了解if引导的条件状语从句与祈使句连用的结构。
（2）词汇：正确认读、听懂、理解并掌握本课单词、常用搭配及结构：

communications，physics，chemistry，dig，coal，energy，X-ray，experiment，sand，control，truck，wheel，whole，compare…with...，of all ages
Key-structure:

（3）语音：读准文章中出现的生词。
