One possible version:
The aim of the experiment is to find out if there's a change in weight after magnesium is heated in air.
To carry out the experiment, you need the following things: magnesium, a Bunsen burner, a balance and a crucible. When all these are ready, you can begin the experiment.
First, put the magnesium in the crucible. Then put the crucible on the balance and weigh them. Next, light the Bunsen burner and place the crucible over it to heat the magnesium. Finally, weigh them again, and compare the two weights.
You can see the magnesium weighs a little more than before. That's because there is a change in weight after magnesium is heated in air.
