Step 1 . Revision
Questions: When do you get up in the morning
What time do you start your lessons
When do you not go to school
Do you go to school early
.......
Get the Ss to answer these questions:
I usually go to school at 7:20.
We start our lessons at a quarter past eight.
I don’t go to school on Sundays.
Yes. I always go to school early.
Step 2 . Lead -in
Play a short video or show some pictures to the Ss and say: These are Millie’s daily activities in her school . listen to the description and find out the prepositions of time.
Step 3 . Learn and summarize
1. How those sentences the have the prepositions of time to the Ss:
Our school starts at eight in the morning.
I go to the library in the afternoon.
We practice after school o Wednesday afternoon.
Get Ss to know the usage of the words “in ; on; at”
2. Get Ss to go through the summary for the prepositions of time and read out the examples.
Step 4. Practice
Help Tommy finish his email, using the prepositions time.
Step 5. Presentation
1. Show some pictures to tell Ss Millie;s daily activities and get Ss to find out the adverbs of frequency.
2. Present some sentences to the Ss.
Usually we do morning exercises first.
Sometimes my friends and I go to the library in the afternoon.
We always have a good time at school.
Millie seldom chats with her friends after school.
Translate the adverbs of frequency in the sentences in to Chinese.
Step 6. Summary and practice
1. Look at the pictures on Part B on page 48 and summarize the usage of the adverbs of frequency.
