1. 形容词、副词的比较级
在对两者进行比较时,形容词和副词要用比较级的形式
之后往往用than引出比较的对象。如:
Shanghai is busier than Hangzhou.
London is bigger than Cambridge.
形容词、副词比较级规则变化见下页:

以字母e结尾的形容词 直接加 –r nice, fine, large nicer, finer, larger

以“辅音字母 + y”结尾的形容词,先把y变成i 再加-er busy, easy, early busier, easier, earlier

2. as…as…
as…as: 如…一样…(中间永远接形容词/副词原级)
Some day it will become as busy as Hong Kong.
I was as happy as John yesterday.
在否定结构中,第一个as可被so代替,即:
not so/as…as: 不如…一样…(即后面的更好)
This film isn’t so/as interesting as that one.
(That one is more interesting.)
He doesn’t run so/as fast as I (do).
(I run faster.)
She is not so active in sports as before.
(She was more active before).
