Analysis of the material:
The topic of this unit is TV programmes. In my class, I’ll deal with the first period of the unit. It includes welcome to the unit. As the leading part of this unit, it’s very important. We should make the students interested in the unit and want to know more about different types of TV programmes in our life and how to talk about their favourite TV programmes. They also should master several important words and phrases related to the topic and get ready for the following study in the unit.
Analysis of the students:
The Grade 9 students have more exams and tests this term. They must feel stressed and tired from time to time. They need to do the things they like to relax. Nowadays, TV is part of our life. Students are very familiar with it. By asking several questions and doing some activities, the students will be interested in the topic.

3. To revise the words which can be used to describe the feelings about watching TV programmes

Step1: Warming-up Talk about an experience I have in Shanghai TV station. Teach them some new words. Think and tell me the things they like to do to relax. Make the students interested in the topic and help them involved in the topic.
Step2: Task 1 Learn the words about TV Consolidate the meanings of the words. Match the words with the meanings. Introduce some words about TV programmes.
Step3: Task 2Different TV programmes Activity 1:Show a video about different TV programmes and ask students to guess how many and say the names.Activity 2:Show some pictures about TV programmes and ask them to say the namesActivity 3: Ask students to make sentences (1)Watch the video and guess (2) Choose the button and say the names of TV programmes.
