Knowledge: To understand the definitions as well as the usages of the following words and phrases:
1. Words: wealth; prison; safety; lock; shut; guard; stranger; *kidnap
2. Phrases: be of great wealth; be in prison; be kidnapped; safety tips; lock the door; shut all the windows; carry a lot of money with us; be on guard against stranger danger

Step 1: Presentation
1. Watch a short video and show some new words: kidnapping/ kidnapper/kidnapped.
2. Introduce the kidnapping() and learn some new words: wealth
Step 2: Complete the profiles
Task 1: Read the notes the police recorded in part A1 and answer:
1) Who is the victim?
2) How old is the victim?
3) When did the crime happen?
4) Who are suspects?
Task 2: Complete part of the profiles with the information from the notes made by the police
Pay attention to the information about the criminal records of the suspects.
Task 3: Prediction: What questions will the police officer ask the two suspects?
a) How long has the suspect known Mr Guan
b) Whether the suspect knows Guan Fei or not
c) What did the suspect do between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on 28th October ……
Task4. Listen to the tape to collect more information useful for completing the left part of the profiles
1. Listen to the tape to get the general idea of the dialogue.
2. Listen to the tape again and try to grasp the information referring to
