难点分析 从知识角度分析为什么难 围绕“What does he look like ”句型,使学生在学习句型的过程中掌握重点单词,并能正确使用have动词和be动词来描述人物的身高、体型、发型等方面。
从学生角度分析为什么难 学生们已经学习了有关人身体各部位的名称,例如face、nose、ear、head等,但是他们的脑子里储存的只是一些孤立的单词,往往不能用完整的句子来描述人的外貌特征,而对于使用have动词和be动词来描述人物的身高、体型、发型等方面,学生比较容易混淆。
难点教学方法 1.充分利用多媒体,以课件、图片等教学资源进行语言操练和实践,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,让学生掌握关于描述人外貌特征的词汇和句型。 2.通过师生互动和生生互动,掌握“What does he look like ”句型,把握句式结构,特别是is和has的正确使用,有效地突破重难点,达到教学效果。 3.充分发挥好教师的示范作用,通过语言操练和实践,让学生更直观地感受英语、学习英语、运用英语。
教学环节 教学过程
导入 1.Lead in: Before the class, let students play a guessing game, give them some clues,describe about her height, build, hair, let students guess“Who is it ”让学生通过一些描述了解人物的外貌特征,猜测出图片的人物(Angela),引出本节课的句型“What does he look like ”。 设计意图:通过活动能自然过渡到本节课的内容,激起学生的好奇心和学习兴趣,为后面描述外貌特征的学习做好铺垫。
知识讲解 (难点突破) 2.Presentation Learn to describe people’s appearances from 3 aspects: (1).“height”: ①Show pictures of Yaoming、Dengchao、Hejiong to present how to describe people’s height ,“What does he look like He is tall/of medium height/short.” ②Do some practices, look at pictures and describe people’s height. When I ask students“What does she look like ”They can answer“She is tall/of medium height/short.” (2).“build”: ①show pictures of Hanhong、Wangfei、 Yangmi to present how to describe people’s build ,“She is heavy/of medium build/thin.” ②Do some practices, look at pictures and describe people’s build. When I ask students“What does he look like ”They can answer“He is tall/ of medium height/ short.” (3).“hair”: ①show some pictures to present how to describe people’s hair,“He / She has short / long + straight /curly hair”. ②Let students design their new haircuts,learn to use the following sentence:“I have ... hair,but I want to have ... hair.” 设计意图: 通过展示图片,输入词汇,呈现描述人物的身高、体型、头发的目标句型,让学生通过练习后自主发现is和has的区别,突破本单元的难点,为接下来的Exercise做好铺垫。
课堂练习 (难点巩固) 3.Exercise: (1).Fill in the blanks according to the picture. ---What does the boy look like ---He has short curly hair. And he is of medium height. He's a little thin . (plete the sentences with “is”or“has”. ①. She is (is/has) of medium height. ②. He is (is/has) really tall. And he has (is/has) curly hair. ③. My mother has (is/has) long straight hair. ④.She is (is/has) of medium build,not too heavy or too thin. ⑤.He is (is/has) heavy. And he has (is/has) short hair. (3).Write a passage to describe your family your friend. I have a friend. She is really tall. She isn't heavy or thin.She is of medium build. She has short straight hair. But she wants to have long curly hair. 设计意图:运用多媒体的直观性,进行阶梯式操练,能使学生快速并大量获得语言的操练,在练习中掌握正确的表达方式。
小结 4.Summary: When we want to know one’s appearance,we can ask:“What does he/she look like” And we can use the following sentences to describe a person. When we want to talk about people’s height,we can say“He/She is tall/of medium height/short”;When we want to talk about people’s build,we can say“He/She is heavy/of medium build/thin”;When we want to talk about people’s hair,we can say“He/She has short/long+straight/curly hair”.We have learned the way to describe people’s appearances and I hope you don’t judge people by their appearances. 设计意图:总结本节课的知识点,并进行德育教育:不要以貌取人!教育学生学会尊重他人,尊重他人就是尊重自己!
