英语中的名词可以分为可数名词和不可数名词。可数名词的复数形式表示名词的数量超过1。
可数名词的复数变化规则：
构成方法 例词
（1）直接加s： dog—dogs cat—cats grape—grapes
（2）以s,x,sh,ch结尾加es: bus—buses class—classes dress—dresses
fox—foxes box—boxes brush—brushes（刷子）
watch—watches sandwich—sandwiches
（3）以辅音字母加y结尾去y为ies： candy—candies lady—ladies story—stories ，
strawberry—strawberries fly—flies（苍蝇） country—countries
activity —activities library —libraries puppy—puppies
baby —babies
注意： monkey—monkeys， key—keys， holiday—holidays（假期）
boy—boys toy-toys
（4）f或fe结尾变f或fe为ves： knife—knives(小刀) leaf—leaves(叶子) thief—thieves(小偷)
shelf—shelves(架子) scarf(围巾)—scarves life—lives（生命）
wolf—wolves(狼)
