T: What kind of TV shows do you like or dislike? Today let’s
talk about them together.
Show the pictures of different kinds of TV shows, get students to learn the new words.

T: Now open your books and do 1a as quickly as you can. Match the TV shows with the pictures. Write the letter of each picture on the blank line before the correct word.

(Get students to watch a short TV show)
T: what kind of TV show is it?
T: What do you think of the game show?
Ss: It’s beautiful./It’s fantastic./I like it./It’s very interesting.
T: I agree with you. If you think it’s very great, you may say: I love it. If you think it’s interesting, it’s good, you may say: I like it. If you think it’s boring, you may say: I don’t like it. (When the teacher says ‘like’, shows a smiling face . When says ‘dislike’, shows a crying face. Then asks some students to say something about it.)
S1: I like talk shows but I don’t like game shows.
S2: I like...but I don’t like...
T;I love talk show. (Show two smiling faces.) I don’t mind game show. (Show a face.) Do you know what it means?
S1: Yes/No.
T: The word ‘mind’ means介意。Are you clear?
Ss: Yes.
T: I like soap operas, but my father can’t stand them. Because they are too boring. (Show two crying faces.) Do you know its meaning? (Help the students understand it.)
T: The word stand means忍受.
(Then the teacher writes ‘I love.../I like.../I don’t mind.../I don’t like.../I can’t stand...’on the blackboard and teaches the students to read them twice.)
T: When we talk about a topic, you should give your own ideas. Now how can we ask about the ideas? Who can help me?
S1: We should ask ‘What do you think of?’
T: Thank you. You are very clever.
(Write ‘What do you think of ...’on the blackboard? Practice the sentences for several times.)

Show the Ss a dialogue, ask them to make new dialogues according to it, they can change the programs as they like. First in groups, then show in class. Divide the students into two groups, get them to have a competition.
