“You can you up,no can no bb.” The latest Chinglish buzz phrase, having swept through Chinese cyberspace and society, has now made a landing overseas, entering the US web based Urban Dictionary.
According to the entry submitted by “gingerdesu”,“You can you up,” which means “If you can do it,go ahead and do it”,is a Chinglish phrase referring to people who criticize others' work, especially when the critic is not that much better.
As well as “you can you up,” other Chinglish catch phrases, such as “tuhao” and “no zuo no die”,have also been recorded on the site.
Coined with roots in Chinese grammar, and even containing Pinyin,Chinglish words and phrases are even spreading beyond grassroots websites.
In 2013,“dama” and “tuhao” found their way into The Wall Street Journal and the BBC,and words such as “feng shui”,“Chengguan” and “ people mountain people sea” have been admitted to the Oxford English Dictionary.
“The frequent use of Chinglish by foreign institutions suggests that people are looking more to the lifestyle and popular culture of China,” says Zhang Yiwu,a professor of Peking University's Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
“Words like ‘dama’ and ‘tuhao’ are so vivid. My friends and I use them a lot—it's so much fun,” said Satoshi Nishida, a Japanese student studying at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU).
“Behind these Chinglish words and phrases is Chinese culture. They are reflections of the changes and trends in the Chinese society and they help people from other countries understand what's happening in China,” according to Xing Hongbing,a professor of BLCU.

Language is the normal way humans communicate. Only humans use language, though many other animals communicate in different ways. An important difference is that human language has syntax,_which is a set of rules for connecting words together to make statements and questions; some other animals use syntax, but it is not as complicated (复杂的) as human syntax. Language can also be changed, by adding new words, for example, to describe new things. This is very uncommon for other animals. Language may be done by speech or by writing or by moving the hands to make signs. Even some human communication is not language: see non verbal communication.Humans also use language for thinking.
The capacity (能力) to learn and use language is inherited (继承). Normally, all humans are born with this capability.Which language is learned by a child depends on which language is spoken by the child's community. Children have a special period, from about 18 months to about 4 years, which is very important for learning the language. If this is seriously disrupted (扰乱), then their language skills will be damaged. Adults do not learn languages the same way as they did when they were young. So if they learn a second language, it is difficult and they have little chance of speaking it as well as their native language. Some children have more than one native language like when they live in a foreign country or when their father speaks a different language from their mother.
English is often called “the international language”. About 380 million people speak English as the first language. It is also the main second language of the world and the language of science, business, and entertainment (娱乐).

Note taking is a skill that can help you do well in all your schoolwork—everything from taking tests to researching a paper. But unfortunately, most schools don't have classes that teach you how to take notes. So here are some tips.
Write down key facts. If you have a teacher who writes notes on the board, that's good: You can copy them down.If not, write down the most important points from class.Does your history teacher mention the date of a key Civil War battle Does your English teacher give examples of Shakespeare's use of irony (讽刺) Write it down!
Different teachers do things differently. For example, some teachers may mention lots of dates and facts in class but only write the key ones on the board.Other teachers may not write anything down, but they may repeat a certain date or piece of information. After a while, you'll get to know a teacher's style.
Don't overdo it.Don't go crazy taking notes. You'll be frantic (慌乱的) if you try to write down every word that's said in class. And if you focus too much on getting your notes right, you might miss important points. Some people actually learn better by listening, writing down a few key points, and then going over the material after class.
Ask.Don't be afraid to ask the teacher to repeat something you miss.If the teacher is going too fast, your classmates will also be happy to hear the information again. If you don't want to ask in class, see your teacher afterwards. It's much easier than wondering if you got the notes right as you study.
Compare.Keep your notes handy when you're doing your reading pare what you wrote with what the readings say—you may even want to add to your notes as you read.

Nowadays, e dictionaries are more and more popular among students. They may be lighter and compacter (简洁的) than any paper dictionary. 1 However,E dictionaries should be limited in their use in classrooms, for there are many limits.
2 In Japan, prices range from 10,000 yen ($100) to 40,000 yen, depending on how many functions you want and depending on how fashionable you are.A trusty Random House paper dictionary costs $12.95 plus tax.
E dictionaries are more fragile.Drop your paper dictionary.Go ahead.Hold it above your head and drop it. 3
E dictionaries have keypads. 4 Besides,it is more time consuming than looking through pages and using the index at the top of each page.
Finally, let's consider making corrections or additions. When you find something you'd like to change in the e dictionary, you can pencil in some notes with the paper type. 5
A.However,it is impossible to do so with a keypad model.
B.They may even contain more words and expressions.
C.Typing in the spelling of a word is harder.
D.Now,try this with any lightweight plastic e dictionary, and you'll be picking up the pieces.
