动词后接非谓语动词做宾语的情况分为三种:
1. 一般用不定式做宾语的词有:
decide, learn, want, expect, hope, manage, offer, pretend, plan, choose, promise, refuse, afford, agree…
2. 一般用动名词做宾语的词有:
consider, suggest, admit, avoid, delay, miss, practise, enjoy, mind, finish, imagine, risk, fancy, appreciate…
3. 接动名词和不定式皆可:
-ing and to-infinitive as object
begin to do/begin doing
start to do/start doing
continue to do/continue doing
learn to do/learn doing
-ing and to-infinitive as object
注意:部分动词后接动名词和不定式做宾语时意思有差别。
forget to do sth.

stop to do sth.

remember to do sth.

regret to do sth.
regret doing sth.
忘记要去做某事(此事未做)
忘记做过某事(此事已做过或已发生)

Notice
1. 动词need, want, require作“需要”讲时,其后接动名词的主动形式 (doing) 或不定式的被动形式 (to be done) 作宾语,表示事情需要被做。

2. be worth doing结构中动名词的主动形式 (doing) 表被动意义,表示事情值得被做,意义等同于be worthy to be done 或be worthy of being done。

Background information
The Boy Scouts of America (the BSA) is one of the largest organisations of young people in the United States. Around more than 2.4 million young people take part in BSA activities, and almost one million adults are volunteers.
Since it was founded in 1910, more than 110 million Americans have been involved in BSA activities. The aim of the BSA is to train young people in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance. This is done through taking part in a wide range of outdoor activities and educational programs. Career-oriented programmes in partnership with community organisations are also available for older age levels.
