主要教学步骤
Step 1: Lead-in Greet the class as usual. Show students some pictures of people of different ages. Then ask students some questions: What do you think of when you see these photos What words can you think of to describe a person's appearance and personality? List these words as many as possible. In a few minutes, several students will be invited to share their answers. Listening material 1: Step 2:Pre-listening 1.Complete the task in 1a. Fill in the chart with words to describe people. Put the words that students think together, and students read them aloud several times. Step 3: While-listening 1.Complete the task in 1b. Ask students to look at the instruction of 1b and read the three conversations. Then play the tape for Ss to listen for the first time. After listening, ask students to complete the three conversations, Three minutes later, play the tape again.check the answers. Step4: Post-listening 1.Complete the task in 1c. Ask students to look at the picture in 1a and make conversations with their partners. You can do it like the following example: A: Did Mario use to be short B: Yes, he did. He used to be really short A: What’s he like now B: He’s tall now. After two minutes, several students will be invited to the front of the classroom to perform their conversations. The teacher will explain relevant language knowledge points, and ensure that students can understand. If students have problems, the teacher must explain them. Listening materials 2: Step 5:Pre-listening Ask students to look at the picture and these words in 2a, then predict what the listening material is about. In a few minutes, several students will be invited to share their predictions. Step 6: While-listening 1.Listen to the recording for the first time, then check your prediction. 2.Complete the task in 2a. Play the tape for the first time for Ss to listen and ask students to check( ) the words they hear. Check the answers . 3.Complete the task in 2b. Play the tape again. After listening, ask Ss to Complete the chart about how Paula has changed. After 5 minutes, check the answers. Step4: Post-listening 1.Complete the task in 2c. Make conversations about Paula using the information in 2b with your partner.You can do it like the following example: A:Paula used to be really quiet. B:I know. She was always silent in class. After two minutes, several students will be invited to act out their conversations. 2.Pair work Role-play the conversation in 2d with your partner. The teacher will explain relevant language knowledge points, and ensure that students can understand. If students have problems, the teacher must explain them.
