主要教学步骤
Step 1: Lead-in Greet the class as usual. Review the key sentences of last class. Ask students to work in pairs to talk about their changes in the past three years. In a few minutes, several pairs will be invited to share their changes. Step 2:Pre-reading Ask students to look at the picture and read the title of 3a, then predict what the conversation is about. After two minutes, several students will be invited to share their predictions. Step 3: While-reading Fast reading: 1.Ask students to read the conversation quickly, then check your prediction. 2.Complete the task in 3a. Read the article and identify the paragraphs in which the following information appears. Number the information [1–3]. ______ how Candy’s life has changed ______ Candy’s advice to young people ______ Candy’s background Check the answers. Detailed reading: 1.Complete the task in 3b. Ask students to read the article again and complete the sentences about Cindy. 1. She used to be shy, but now she’s not shy________. 2. She didn’t use to be ________ in school, but now she gets lots of attention. 3. She used to ________with friends, but it is almost impossible now. 4. She didn’t use to _______how she appears to others,but now she does. After ten minutes, check the answers. Step4: Post-reading 1.Pair work Suppose you are the interviewer and your partner is Candy. Ask and answer questions. After 5 minutes, several students will be invited to Act out their interviews. Ask students to retell the passage according to the sentences in 3a. The teacher will explain relevant language knowledge points, and ensure that students can understand. If students have problems, the teacher must explain them.
