We invite you to follow this programme, so you can be the slim person who lives inside you.

I'd like to share a story that happened when I was four. I remember it clearly. Our loving family dog was nearing the end of his life. My father picked him up and put him in a little bed we had made for him. Our dog, my companion, whom we had cared for, bit my father when he tried to help him. How could he Why I couldn't understand it. I didn't like him anymore.
I hadn't thought about that story for a long time but something that happened last week brought it back to me. I went to speak with a friend. When I knocked on the door, I met an angry look and a few harsh(尖刻的) words. When the door was closed in my face, I stood there shocked, and in a rush, I was reminded of my dog biting my father 20 years ago or so. What brought that story back was that same feeling of betrayal(背叛).
Both stories taught me something the next day. You see, when I got up in the morning and was told my dog had died, it became clear to me that he must have been in great pain. For him to have bitten a family member, he could not have been himself. Much the same for the other story when I learnt that my friend's wife had just left him.
We are all beings of our environments, our opinions and feelings. And all of those things can cause you to say and do things that can't be understood by those who are not in the same situation with you.
If you meet someone either behaving out of character or acting in a way that doesn't seem to fit the situation, put out your hand and be patient when you think it is least possible for him to do so. You may turn around a story that has a sad ending simply by your actions.
1.What is the influence of the story mentioned in Paragraph 1
A.It hurt his father's feeling deeply.
B.It has puzzled the author ever since.
C.It left a deep impression on the author.
D.It made the author dislike dogs.
2.What made the author think of the story of about 20 years ago
A.His friend's attitude.
B.The photo of the dog.
C.His father's wound.
D.His friend's suffering.
3.Why did the author's friend say harsh words to the author
A.He was ill-tempered.
B.He was suffering the pain of losing his wife.
C.He was bothered by an unexpected visit.
D.They once quarrelled and he couldn't forgive the author.
4.What's the author's advice to us
A.Help those in need.
B.Look before you leap.
C.Respect for others is a good quality.
D.Learn to put yourself in others' shoes.
C
How to eat healthfully can be especially complex for workingwomen who often have neither the desire nor the time to cook for themselves (or for anyone else). Registered dietitian(营养专家) Barhara Morrissey suggests that a few simple rules can help.
"Go for nutrient dense foods," she suggests, "foods that contain a multiple of nutrients. For example, select whole wheat bread as a breakfast food, rather than coffee cake. Or drink orange juice rather than orange drink, which contains only a small percentage of real juice—the rest is largely colored sugar water. You just can't compare the value of these foods, the nutrient dense ones are so superior."
Morrissey believes that variety is not only the spice of life—it's the foundation of a healthful diet. "Diets which are based on one or two foods are not only virtually impossible to keep up the strength; they can be very harmful," she says, "because nutrients aren't supplied in sufficient amounts or balance."
According to Morrissey, trying to find a diet that can cure your illnesses, or make you a superwoman is a fruitless search." As women, many of us are too concerned with staying thin," she says, "and we believe that vitamins are some kind of magic cure to replace food."
"We need carbohydrates, protein and fat—they are like the wood in the fireplace. The vitamins and minerals are like the match, the spark for the fuel." she explains. "We need them all, but in very different proportions. And if the fuel isn't there, the spark is useless."
1.From paragraph 1, we know that workingwomen _____.
A.think cooking is especially complicated
B.do not share the same views with registered dietitians
C.are busy and not interested in cooking
D.are likely to eat healthfully
2.Orange juice is different from orange drink in that _____.
A.it contains only a small percentage of real juice
B.it is natural, nutritious and prepared from real oranges
C.it is largely orange-colored sugar water
D.it produces nothing but calories
3.In Paragraph 4, "a fruitless search" means _____.
A.an effort with no results B.a search for a diet without fruits
C.a research on fruitless diet D.a diet serving as medicine
4.By "if the fuel isn't there, the spark is useless", the author means _____.
A.carbohydrates, protein and fat are enough to support a human life
B.vitamins and minerals are virtually of no value
C.carbohydrates, protein and fat are as important as vitamins and minerals
D.without carbohydrates, protein and fat, vitamins and minerals are of no use
D
A new study finds almost one third of the world's population is overweight. Since 1980, obesity rates(肥胖率) in children and adults have doubled in 73 countries, making people more worried. And rates are increasing in many other countries. Obesity is increasing faster in children than in adults in many nations, including Algeria, Turkey and Jordan, the report says. But the world's weight problem is growing in both rich and poor countries alike. Researchers say an increasing number of people are dying of related health problems in what they called a "disturbing global public health problem".
Researchers studied health information from 1980 through 2015. They examined obesity rates and average(平均的) weight gain in 195 countries. They found that obesity rates are three times higher among teenagers and young adults in countries like China, Brazil and India. Almost 108 million children and more than 600 million adults were found to be overweight. Egypt had the highest number of overweight adults in 2015. Vietnam had the lowest. In the same year, the United States had the highest number of overweight children, and Bangladesh had the lowest.
Yet hunger remains a problem in many areas. The United Nations said that almost 800 million people, including 300 million children, go to bed hungry each night. Experts said poor diets and lack of physical activity are the main reasons for the rising number of overweight people. Growing populations have led to rising obesity rates in poor countries. Often, poor people will eat processed(加工的) food instead of choosing a diet rich in vegetables.
The London-based Overseas Development Institute studied the price of food in five countries: Britain, Brazil, China, Mexico and South Korea. It found that the cost of processed food like ice cream and hamburgers has fallen since 1990. But the cost of fresh fruit and vegetables has gone up.
1. What do we know about obesity in the world
A. It is worrying.
B. It is given no attention.
C. It has been successfully solved.
D. It is more serious among old people.
2. Which country has the most overweight children in 2015
A. The US. B. Vietnam. C. Egypt. D. Bangladesh.
3. What is one of the reasons why people get overweight
A. Hunger. B. Poor diets.
C. Diets with vegetables. D. Eating too much fruit.
4. Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. It's Important to Have a Balanced Diet
B. How Can We Lose Weight and Keep Fit
C. Is It Necessary for Us to Eat Fresh Vegetables
D. Nearly One Third of People in the World Are Overweight

第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
It was the first day of our new grade. Everyone in the classroom was chatting happily, excited to see each other again after the long holiday. When the door slid open, all of us stopped talking and turned to look. In came our teacher Ms.Sullivan, followed by an ordinary-looking boy.
"This boy's name is Rafael," Ms. Sullivan announced. "He's a transfer student(转校生), and he's going to be in our class starting from today. Make sure all of you welcome him warmly."
The class clapped. But I didn't want to have a second look at the newcomer, for he had no outstanding qualities considering his small figure and casual T-shirt.
:Oh, I forgot to mention one thing," Ms. Sullivan spoke up. "Rafael actually has hearing problems. Normally he would have hearing aids on, but his old ones have just been broken. His doctor suggested that he stay at home until he got his new ones. However, Rafael insisted on attending his first day of school. So if you want to communicate with him, you have to write it on a piece of paper."
This single speech sent the whole class into an uproar(嘈杂). Some students looked at each other with expressions of surprise. Others voiced cries of concern out of pity.
Ms. Sullivan calmed everyone down. "I'd like someone to personally help him out throughout the day. Do I have any volunteers "
"How can a disabled person be intelligent " I thought to myself. I refused to raise my hand, expecting someone else would. But nobody did or said anything. Dead silence spread across the classroom.
It was by total bad luck that my eyes happened to meet Ms. Sullivan's.
"How about you, James " She asked me. "Is it okay for you to take care of Rafael just for today "
It is difficult to refuse a request by someone, especially if that person is a teacher. I sighed and nodded slightly. Ms. Sullivan gestured for Rafael to sit beside me and then asked us to share our holiday stories with the class.

Immediately, the class became excited. ___________________________________________________

第三部分 写作
第一节
答案:
Dear Jennifer,
I've learned that you often skip supper in order to keep slim. I'm convinced that it is understandable for a girl to attach importance to her figure.
However, it is not wise to skip your meals. As we all know, our body needs enough energy to support us. Without necessary nutrition, you would have no enough energy to study, to work or even to live on. What's worse, you may be weak and easy to catch diseases.
Therefore, from my point of view, you should have some food but not too much every evening. Besides, you are supposed to do some exercises to keep in shape. Only in this way can you become more attractive as well as energetic.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
答案:
Paragraph 1:
Immediately, the class became excited. Some could hardly wait to tell their seatmates about their holiday trips, eyes shining and faces glowing with joy. Those who hadn't been anywhere asked them with inquiring questions. Extremely large joy welled up in every corner of the classroom. Obviously confused at the sudden excitement around, Rafael turned to me for reasons in written words. Surprisingly, my explanation put a smile on his face. "Any volunteer to share your story " asked Ms. Sullivan, whose words I wrote down on paper for Rafael.
Paragraph 2:
Then Rafael rose and walked onto the platform. Greeting us with a confident smile, Rafael shared his story in a very attractive voice, which left me shocked. I felt more ashamed to learn that he ran a website to help children with hearing problems than guilty about stupidly thinking disabled people couldn't be intelligent. Then his voice was lost in a big round of applause. Feeling a lump in my throat, I clapped my hands even more loudly, determined never to judge a book by its cover.
