I was driving to town on a beautiful summer day. The sky was full of clouds. The sun was dancing through the green trees with its golden light and I was smiling at the wonder of it.
Suddenly, a truck rounded in front of me, two feet over the center line. I pulled my wheel to the right as I just missed the truck on one side and a ditch on the other side. I noticed the other driver looking at his cell phone totally unaware of the near miss. I closed my mouth in order to avoid saying the words that I promised myself I would no longer use.
Later in town, I was coming out of a store when a yellow butterfly started to circle around my head. I smiled peacefully and held out my open hand. To my joy, the butterfly landed on it briefly and swung its wings before flying away. I looked around to see if anyone else noticed this small wonder, but the only two people near me had their heads down, looking at their cell phone screens.
I began to think that life is what happens while people are busy looking at their smart phones. Now I know that social media, computers and smart phones are all necessaries in our lives, but it doesn't mean that they have to control our days or take over our lives. Amazingly, they all come with a power button. We can turn them off anytime we wish to.
Don't let your smart phone take away your smart mind. Don't let technology take over your soul. Use it when you need it, and turn it off when you don't. Turn your heart on more and our phone on less. Share your kindness, your joy, your hugs, your laughter and your life that make others smile.

A.not catching B.not noticing

D.the writer is a lucky dog
4.What' the writer's attitude towards people's spending much time on cell phones
A.Unconcerned. B.Doubtful. C.Supportive. D.Negative.

As one of the world's most popular cultural mediums, cinema got the most attention at the Taihu World Cultural Forum, an annual event that aims to improve cultural exchanges. It is reported that the box office(票房) takings in China have been growing at an impressive rate in the past five years, which indicates that China, the world's second-largest movie market, is closing the gap with the United States, the world's top cinema market.
Cao Yin, director of the program center at China Movie Channel, said that China has the most cinema screens of any country, and the number is increasing steadily. Saying that China has signed coproduction agreements with more than 20 countries, Cao added it has deepened cinematic exchanges between Chinese filmmakers and their foreign counterparts(同行).
Hong Kong director Stanley Tong said that with the country's huge home market he believes foreign filmmakers will increasingly seek cooperation with China. "International coproduction will become an important platform to send Chinese stories oversea and give us a broader vision of creation," Tong said.
Recently, over 80 percent of the world's top 100 highest box-office titles have been action films. Tong said the action film, in which plots are basically secondary to dazzling stunts(特技), is one of the easiest ways to appeal to foreign audiences. But it has been a decades-long struggle for Chinese filmmakers to sell their stories overseas. When asked what kinds of Chinese films would have the most global appeal, Yan Zhaozhu, chairman of the Taihu World Cultural Forum, said stories that address universal issues, such as environmental protection and climate change, are perhaps the best options.
1. What is the purpose of the Taihu World Cultural Forum
A. To strengthen cultural exchanges.
B. To build more cinemas in China.
C. To attract more tourists to Taihu.
D. To absorb more international investment.
2. What can we know about Cao Yin's opinion
A. Chinese box office takings have already overtaken the United States so far.
B. The screens of Chinese cinemas will be world-leading in the future.
C. China has signed the most coproduction agreements with other countries.
D. There will be more and more cooperation between Chinese filmmakers and those in other countries.
3. How do Chinese filmmakers find selling their movies to the world
A. Reasonable. B. Disappointing. C. Challenging. D. Confusing.
4. What is the best title for the text
A. The Box Office with an Unclear Future
B. China: the Second Biggest Movie Market
C. Cinema: the Leading Cultural Position
D. Chinese Filmmakers Facing the Severe Competition Situation
D
If you ever have the desire to break out into song—in the shower, in the car or maybe at your neighbor's karaoke night—you should embrace it whole-heartedly. This ancient art not only makes you feel good, it can also improve your well-being, reduce your feelings of pain, and even extend your life.
Using your voice to sing, rather than simply carrying out a conversation, offers unique benefits because singing affects our bodies. Also, studies link singing with a lower heart rate, decreased blood pressure and reduced stress according to Patricia Preston-Roberts, a music therapist. She uses song to help patients who suffer from a variety of problems.
Singing, particularly in a group, seems to benefit the elderly particularly well. As part of a three-year study examining how singing affects the health of those fifty-five and older, a senior singers chorus was formed by the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C. The seniors involved in the chorus, as well as seniors in two separate arts groups about writing and painting, showed significant health improvements compared to those in the control groups. Obviously, the arts groups reported thirty fewer doctors; visits, fewer eyesight problems, less depression, and less need for medication.
Even lead researcher Dr. Gene Cohen, director of the Center for Aging, Health and Humanities at George Washington University, was surprised at how big an effect the seniors' arts participation had on their health. Cohen said, "The average age of all the subjects was eighty. This is higher than life expectancy. So, if an effect were to be achieved, one would ordinarily expect to see less decline(下降) compared to the control groups. The fact that there was so much improvement in many areas was the surprising factor." The seniors also noticed health improvement and they reported feeling better both in daily life and while singing.
The part of the brain that works with speech is different from the part that processes music. "People seem to enjoy doing something jointly with other people. There are a lot of facts that being socially involved is good for people with dementia(痴呆)," Ballard said.
The arts are showing up as a treatment tool in hospitals across the country. If you are thinking of volunteering, singing at a hospital may be a good choice—not only for the patients, but also for yourself.
1.In the first paragraph, the author _____.
A.expresses a desire for singing B.offers some advice on singing
C.puts forward his point of view D.states the importance of health
2.Why was Cohen surprised at the results of the study
A.Because the study was not expensive as expected.
B.Because arts acted as a treatment tool in hospitals.
C.Because people's health in the arts groups improved greatly.
D.Because the seniors themselves noticed health improvements.
3.What is the author's attitude towards arts participation
A.Doubtful. B.Positive. C.Negative. D.Worried.
4.What would be the best title for the passage
A.How to Avoid Getting Dementia B.How Seniors Live a Healthy Life
C.How to Keep Your Brains Healthy D.How Singing Improves Your Health

Pain is part of growing.
Sometimes life closes doors because it's time to move forward. ②_____ When times are tough, remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose. The best thing you can do is to keep going.
Don't be afraid to get back up—to try again, to love again, to live again, and to dream again. Don't let a hard lesson harden your heart. Ali and his younger sister, Zahra, lived with their parents in a poor neighborhood. Their mother was very sick and their father was struggling to find a job, and they had only a little money with which to buy food. As they had not paid the rent for several months, the landlord was breathing down their necks(盯着他们).
One day, Ali went to a shoe-repair shop to have Zahra's shoes fixed, but he lost them on the way home. It wasn't until he got home that he realized he had lost the shoes. He was afraid that his parents would be angry and disappointed, so he begged his sister to keep it secret. Zahra agreed and the two decided to share Ali's running shoes. Zahra's school hours were in the morning, so she would wear them first. After school, she would rush back and give them to Ali. He could then run to his school, which began in the afternoon. Although he ran as fast as he could, Ali often arrived late and was warned by the school.
Ali heard about a long distance race that was to be held for the boys in the city. When he learned that the third prize was a new pair of shoes, he decided to take part. He ran home excitedly and promised his sister that he would win her the new shoes.
The day of the race arrived. Ali had a strong start, but halfway through the race he began to get tired and his legs began to ache. Getting more and more exhausted he thought only of Zahra and his promise to her. Dreaming of the new shoes he would win for his sister gave him strength, and he stayed right behind the two fastest runners, determined to finish third. Suddenly, as the finishing line drew near, another runner collided(碰撞) with Ali from behind and he crashed to the ground.

第二节
答案:①behaving ②have been told ③who/that ④shake ⑤easier ⑥an ⑦doubtful ⑧owners ⑨to ⑩whether
故填have been told。
故填who/that。
故填an。
根据下文"as they prefer to believe that their animals have the power of giving warnings before earthquakes"中的they 指的是动物的主人,根据语境可知用复数。
the answer to... 故填to。
故填whether。

For Chinese, calligraphy serves the purpose of conveying thoughts and showing the beauty of lines. It is not only a practical technique for writing Chinese characters, but also a unique art which can help purify our souls.
If you want to be a good user of the writing brush, first you have to be patient. Second, you have to keep practising since practice makes perfect. Last, you should pay attention to the use of calligraphy models. Just be confident and practise hard and you'll be good at Chinese calligraphy.
I would be delighted if my advice can be of great help to you.
Yours,
Li Hua

Paragraph 1:
Ali looked up and saw the other boys rushing ahead. Refusing to give up at this point, he jumped to his feet and ran as fast as he could. He dashed across the finishing line and won the fourth prize. Thinking he would let his sister down, Ali couldn't help sobbing. Just then he suddenly heard the announcement from the broadcast that he won the third prize as the runner who collided with Ali was disqualified for breaking the rule. Holding the shoes close to his chest during the award ceremony, Ali felt overjoyed and relieved as he eventually won the shoes for his sister.
Paragraph 2:
Filled with pleasure, Ali walked home quickly. He could not wait to see his sister and share the good news. "Zahra, see what I have got for you," Ali said excitedly, taking the prize out of his bag with his trembling hands. So thrilled was she that she threw herself at Ali. "Thank you! Ali." Tears of joy welled up in their eyes as the brother and the sister hugged tightly together.
