一、 温故知新。
1.Check some words and phrases of lesson 17.
2.Some questions from last lesson.
Who opens the door
What do they say/do when they meet
Who is cooking for the Thanksgiving dinner
3.Some useful words and phrases from last lesson.
二、 激情导入
Teacher asks: Whose birthday is today in our class
Students answer:(someone`s birthday is today)
Teacher asks: Have you give him/her some wishes for his/her birthday.
Then let them make a birthday card for him/her after class.
At this time tell them Danny Jenny and Brian is doing the same thing---make birthday cards
Next they will send these cards and presents to China.
三、新课学习。
Step one: Showing the teaching aims on the blackboard and asking students to read them together.
1.Remembering some new words and phrases of lesson 17 work in group.
2.Talking about the friendship each other.
3.Understanding the passage meaning.
Step two: Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”
Work in group and talk about it.
Step three: Learning lesson 17 by themselves in groups.
1.Listen to the passage and correct pronunciation.
2.Listen to and tick the sentences that Do Not belong.(Listening once or three times for finishing number 1 of Let’s Do It.)
Step four:
1..Read the lesson and answer the questions. (At first, read the questions and know the meaning. Second, read the dialogue silently and find the answers to the questions. )
A: what did Jenny write in her card
B: what did Danny write in his card
Then Check the answers:
A: Happy birthday, Li Ming! From your friend, Jenny.
B: Happy birthday to my best Chinese friend Li Ming. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. Remember me when you wear my gift! Your friend, Danny.(Explain the language notes here.)
2. Let students guess what they will do after finishing writing the cards.
Give them some verb phrases . Let them try to retell the thing.
a. put…into
b. close…with tape
c. write sb`s address----on the top of the box
d. glue the stamp
e. go to the post office
Let students look at these phrases or words to talk about with their deskmates. Then retell for everyone only.
3.Then,read the dialogue one sentence by one sentence and find something that it’s important or you don’t understand it. At last, Write down something important on your notebook and explain.
Sum up the knowledge point.
1.Jenny and Danny are making birthday cards for Li Ming.
詹妮和丹尼正在为李明做生日贺卡。
1)make为动词,表示“制作”。句式make sth for sb=make sb sth。例如:
My mother made a skirt for me.=My mother made me a skirt.我妈妈给我做了一条裙子。
2)make作使役动词,表示“使,让”,后跟“宾语+宾语补足语”。结构为:made+宾语+省略to的不定式/形容词/介词短语。例如:
The teacher makes us study hard.老师让我们努力学习。
She made me happy。她使我很高兴。
2.May I see what you wrote in your card, Jenny 詹妮,我可以看看在你的贺卡上写了什么吗?
这是一个由what引导的宾语从句。What在从句中作宾语。宾语从句一般由连接代词what、who、which或连接副词where、how、when引导,且宾语从句要用陈述句语序。例如:
Do you know what his name is 你知道他叫什么名字吗?
I don’t know where he is going.我不知道他将要去哪里。
3.Jenny passes him her card.詹妮递给他她的贺卡。
1)pass作动词,表示“传递,传送”。Pass sb sth=pass sth to sb意为“把某物递给某人”.例如:
Please pass me the pen.=Please pass the pen to me.请把钢笔递给我。
2)pass作动词,还表示“走过,经过,通过”,相当于go past, walk past或go by。例如:The ship passed the Channel.船经过了海峡。
I passed the exam我通过了考试
4.Remember me when you wear my gift!当你穿我的礼物时,要记得我。
wear作动词,表示“穿着,戴着”。例如:
He is wearing a pair of sun glasses.他戴着一幅太阳镜。
【辨析】put on, wear, be in, dress
1)put on指“穿、带”,强调动作。例如:
Put on your shoes.穿上你的鞋子。
2)wear和be in都强调状态,后接表示衣服或颜色的词。例如:
He often wears a gray hat.他经常戴一顶灰色的帽子。
He is in a red jacket 他穿着一件红夹克。
3)dress作动词,意为“给……穿衣服”,后常接表示人的名词、代词或反身代词。
The boy can dress himself.这男孩能自己穿衣服了。
Step five: Let students try retelling the text. Try to use their own words.
Step six: Work in groups. Finish number 3 of Let’s Do It and discuss it with each other. Then present it to the whole class.
四、 达标训练,作业布置。
1. Finish some exercises of lesson 17 in exercise book.
2. Finish some exercises of lesson 17 in learning design.
3. Do some exercise that you think it important of homework.
