句型梳理
1.(教材P58)Thus, not only is he known as a superhero in the Superman films, but he is also regarded as a superhero to many in real life.
因此,他不仅是《超人》系列电影中的超级英雄,在现实生活中也被许多人视为超级英雄。
本句中not only...but (also)...表示“不但……而且……”,not only位于句首时,需要部分倒装。
not only…but also…
(1)not only…but also… 它的意思是“不仅……而且……”,用于连接两个表示并列关系的成分,着重强调后者。其中的also有时可以省略。
(2)not only...but also... 连接并列的主语、谓语动词、宾语、宾补、表语、定语、状语和从句等。
(3)not only…but also...的形式比较固定,但也会出现but与also被分隔开来的情形。
(4)not only...but also... 前后连接两个句子时,not only后的句子要用部分倒装,但but also后的分句不用倒装。
(5)若连接两个成分作主语,其谓语通常与靠近的主语保持人称和数的一致。

本句中 it was...that是强调句型。强调原因状语due to the ongoing support of his wife, parents and friends
强调句型:It was...that...
It is by listening to and understanding each other that problems between parents and children can be settled.
只有通过相互倾听和相互理解,父母和孩子之间的问题才能被解决。
(1)强调句型的结构:It is/ was+被强调部分+that…
注意:不能用 when/where代替that。
(2)强调句型的一般疑问句,把is/ was提前。
(3)强调句型的特殊疑问句,即在一般疑问句前加上特殊疑问词。
(4)not...until... 的强调句句型为:
It is/ was not until+被强调部分+that+其他部分.注意:
此句型只用until,不用till。但如果不是强调句型,till和until可通用。因为句型中It is/ was not... 已经是否定句了,that后面的从句要用肯定句,切勿再用否定句了。
(5)主谓一致的情况:当被强调部分是主语时要注意主谓一致。
It was Paul who/ that broke the window just now.
刚刚是保罗打破了窗户。

语法解析
语法:同义词和反义词
同义词是意义相近或相同的词;反义词是意义相对或相反的词。英语是世界上同义词最丰富的语言之一。据统计,英语语言中同义词、近义词的数量约占总词汇量的60%。虽然英语同义词数量庞大且错综复杂,但大体可分为两大类:完全同义词和相对同义词。
完全同义词在任何一种语言中都是寥寥可数的,因此,绝大多数同义词还是相对同义词。这些相对同义词的词性、词义、结构或用法等的相同或相近会造成一定的困惑。因此,掌握一定的辨析技巧,才能做到事半功倍。
辨析同义词的方法:
我们一般从三个方面进行区分,即语法、语义和文体。语法主要是词性、搭配、句式等的区分;语义主要是词义的本义、引申义、比喻义等的区分;文体主要是正式和非正式、褒义和贬义等的区分。

speak (说话): to use your voice to say sth.
say (说): to speak or tell sb. sth., using words
remark (谈论): to say or write a comment about sth./ sb.
state (陈述): to formally write or say sth., especially in a careful and clear way
narrate (讲; 叙述): to tell a story
address (演说; 演讲): to make a formal speech to a group of people
tell (说): to express sth. in words
talk (说话; 讲话; 谈话): to say things, to speak in order to give information or to express feelings, ideas, etc.
chat (闲聊; 闲谈; 聊天): to talk in a friendly informal way to sb.
whisper (耳语; 低语; 私语; 小声说): to speak very quietly to sb.so that other people cannot hear what you are saying
gossip (传播流言蜚语; 说三道四; 说长道短): to talk about other people's private lives, often in an unkind way
