Teaching procedures.
一、 温故知新。
1.Check some words and phrases of lesson 18.
2.To ask some questions about the text of lesson 18
A: What words did Jenny write in her card
B: What words did Danny write in his card
C: What do they do after writing the birthday cards
3.To translate some phrases into Chinese
A: I send a flower to my mother.
B: He passes some candies to that child.
C: go into the post office
4.Some useful words and phrases from last lesson.
二、 激情导入。
Teacher asks: If you get a birthday gift , how do you feel
What will you do
Students answers: ( discuss with students)
Teacher says: Today Li Ming gets his gift from Canada. He writes a letter to his Canadian friends. Let`s learn what he writes. Let`s feel his feeling.
三、新课学习。
Step one: Showing the teaching aims on the blackboard and asking students to read them together.
1.Remembering some new words and phrases of lesson 18 work in group.
2.Talking about the friendship each other.
3.Understanding the passage meaning.
Step two: Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”
Work in group and talk about it.
Step three: Learning lesson 18 by themselves in groups.
1.Listen to the passage and correct pronunciation.
2.Listen to and tick the sentences that Do Not belong.(Listening once or three times for finishing number 2 of Let’s Do It.)
Step four:
1..Read the lesson and answer the questions. (At first, read the questions and know the meaning. Second, read the dialogue silently and find the answers to the questions. Finish number 1 of Let’s Do It. )
Show the small blackboard with some questions. Let students listen to the rest of the text and answer them.
A: Who gave him a Chinese party B: Who were invited by Li Ming`s parents.
C: What do they eat D: What about the birthday cake
Check the answers with students
A: His father and mather. B: His friends, his cousin, his uncles and aunts and his grandparents.
C: They ate noodles. D: It is delicious one whit thirteen candles.
2.Then,read the dialogue one sentence by one sentence and find something that it’s important or you don’t understand it. At last, Write down something important on your notebook and explain. Sum up the knowledge point.
To explain the text one paragraph by one paragraph.

Step five: Let students try retelling the text. Try to use their own words.
Step six: Work in groups. Finish number 3 of Let’s Do It and discuss it with each other. Bet students guess and discuss.
When they eat birthday cake, what do Li Ming and his parents do If it is yours, will your parents do like that
Some tips: turn off the lights carry the cake into the room blow out the candles etc.
Then present it to the whole class.
四、 达标训练,作业布置。
1. Finish some exercises of lesson 18 in exercise book.
2. Finish some exercises of lesson 18 in learning design.
3. Do some exercise that you think it important of homework.
