Step 1. Talk about the students’ favourite sports. How many students like football What do they know about the basketball The teacher introduces something about the basketball to the students, too.
Then discuss questions in “Chat Show”

2. Can you think of any famous basketball players
Step 2. Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”
Divide the class into several groups. Discuss the two questions together. Every group chooses the best answer and report it to the class.
Step 3. Listen to the tape with the following questions:
1. Where does his family come from
2. How old is she
3. Is her sister good at football
4. What does Georgia mean by “the game was almost over”
5. What’s her ambition
Step 4. Read the text silently and check the answers. Then read the text loudly in class.
Step 5. Let some volunteers read the text in front of the class.
