B
It was a Sunday night. I circled the belghbbhood a few times, looking for a place to park my car. Finally, I found one to the south of my house. It was behind a late-model Jeep. I tried to back into the space, but I failed to see the angles clearly. I heard it before I felt it, the sound of plastic on plastic, like a sheet of sandpaper along the surface of a painted piece of wood. I got out of my car to check the damage. My car was unharmed. However, there were two distinct lines on the Jeep.
Then I noticed a woman, walking her dog, who was now photographing me with her phone. “Hope you’re no planning to drive away,” she said quietly. Until then, I was annoyed with myself for having been careless, but now I was mad with her for taking my picture. How dare she, I thought. She had no respect for my privacy. And how dare she assume I would do the wrong thing But soon I calmed down because I knew she wasn’t entirely incorrect. I’d made no decision to drive away without leaving ante but I’d be lying if I said the idea hadn’t flashed across my mind. It was dark, and aside from her no one was watching. It happens all the time-the hit-and-run in the parking lot.
We all have those desires to behave selfishly, to go against the social contract; it is not the thought but what we do with it that counts. It is the commitment to take responsibility, to care for one another, and to think about the greater good that makes this world a better place to stay. The choice to own up was left to me. I left a note with my name and phone number under the wiper blade of the Jeep.

7. What does the author intend to tell us through his story
A. Everyone makes mistakes. B. Always do the right thing.
C. Avoid conflicts with others. D. Apologizing sincerely matters.
C
Last weekend, I said goodbye to another dear old friend. We had 12 fine years together, but our relationship was becoming dysfunctional(不正常的). Unwanted emissions and serious health problems were the final straw, leaving me with no choice but to make a trip to the knacker’s(收废汽车者的)yard.
I am now car-free for the first time in 20 years, and it feels strange. When I gave up meat, I did so mainly for environmental reasons, and I didn’t miss it at all. I would like to say the same about my car, but I can’t. It was first and foremost a financial decision: keeping the old car on the road was getting too expensive.
But doing the right thing for the wrong reasons is still doing the right thing — I now have a chance to rethink how I move myself and my family around, and can try to find a more environmentally friendly means of transport.
Going car-free is, I think, a lifestyle change that many of us are going to make over the next few years, as car ownership becomes increasingly unnecessary, expensive and socially unacceptable. However, it is easier said than done. Now my car is gone. I still need to get around. But how I already cycle to work and use public transport when appropriate. But there are some occasions when a car seems to be the only way.
I won’t buy one: I have joined a car-share program and will use taxis more often. I will hire a car if I need to drive a long distance. But then I am still travelling in fossil-fuelled cars(燃油汽车), like when I quit meat and ended up eating more cheese. I fear I may have swapped one environmental problem for another.
I am also afraid to think about the ultimate fate of my car. I have just offloaded more than a ton of metal, plastic, rubber, fabric, electronics, oil and petrol that will end up in a landfill. There are millions of similar vehicles in the UK alone that will have to go somewhere.
Maybe I am overthinking it. According to Charlie Wilson, a climate scientist at the UK’s Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, getting rid of a private car is no doubt a positive step to reduce CO2 emissions.
He points to research by the OECD’s International Transport Forum. “They showed that moving from a private vehicle fleet(车队)to a shared vehicle fleet can greatly cut the number of vehicles you need to deliver the mobility that we need and want. If that vehicle fleet is electrified, you can also bring CO2 emissions close to zero.”
So in other words, just get rid of your car.
8. What do we know about the author’s car
A. It was old. B. It was green.
C. It was his first car. D. It was a second-hand car.
9. What do the author’s giving up meat and saying goodbye to his car have in common
A. He did both for the wrong reasons. B. He thinks both help him save money.
C. He considers both are right decisions. D. He did both out of concern for the environment.
10. What does the author fear
A. He may have to spend more on travel.
B. His lifestyle might be changed completely.
C. He might get bored with public transportation.
D. His decision may fail to help the environment.
11. What does Charlie Wilson say
A. It is wise to do away with old private cars.
B. It is very easy to deal with old private cars.
C Electric cars are the solution to traffic problems.
D. The OECD plays a key role in promoting car-sharing.
D
Livestreaming is a kind of e-commerce and marketing and sales method. It combines live product demonstrations, time-limited pricing promotions, live negotiations, and instant ordering through online streaming services hosted either by an influencer studio, or online store.
Livestreaming removes barriers between brands and consumers. While it is focused on driving short term sales, livestreaming can enable firms to improve marketing efficiency by combining brand marketing and performance marketing. There are certain factors that will increase the chance of success.
Brands should not use livestreaming as a short-term sales booster but as a long-term way to remove barriers between brands and consumers. Specifically, brands could better demonstrate their products in this way, tell fuller brand stories, introduce emotional and cultural elements to their products, obtain instant feedback, conduct product trials, improve marketing efficiency by combining brand marketing and performance marketing, use different livestream hosts to build a bridge for the consumers and cultivate brand loyalty.
Of course, Livestreaming is not without drawbacks, however. For ads on TV, government has clear rules to forbid brands parading the before-and-after effects of health products. The restrictions are not clear yet for internet-based livestreaming, and health products are frequently promoted by livestreamers. We need to continue to monitor regulatory updates carefully.
As promoting products through live-streaming has been compared to “tuning clicks into cash,” some people have made illegal profits by creating false prosperity. Through the purchase of fake followers to increase shares and comments, some live streamers can falsify their rate of engagement to cheat brands and companies in an effort to win more trust and make more money. Meanwhile, live-streams have also faced issues like the return, refund and exchange of products.
12. What does the author advise the brands to do with Livestreaming
A. To achieve as much sales as possible.
B. To focus more on brand marketing.
C. To remove barriers between brands and consumers.
D. To build a bridge between consumers and government.
13. What does the underlined word “parading” probably mean
A. Overstating B. Comparing C. Displaying D. Describing
14. How do live streamers create false prosperity
A. By promoting the products as hard as possible. B. By creating fake comments and shares.
C. By speaking highly of the brands and firms. D. By refusing the exchange and the refund of products.
15. What’s the author’s attitude towards Livestreaming
A. Supportive B. Neutral C. Critical D. Doubtful

“Mom!” 11-year-old Mark cried to his mom, Cindy. “I don’t want to wear the sweater!”
“Please, honey, put it on! We’re already running late!” Cindy said as she packed their suitcases. “But Mom! It’s not even my size. Can I please get something else to Wear ”
“Don’t trouble your mom, Mark,” his dad, Luke, said. “We have to leave now.”
Cindy and Luke took out their suitcases and put them into the car. The family were taking a skiing trip to the mountains. Mark sat in the back seat, angry, because he hated the sweater!
It was a red sweater, a bit too big for him, and its sleeves were not even the same size. It was Mark’s birthday gift. Grandma Sandy promised him a video game, but gave him a sweater instead! Mark didn’t like it. He told Grandma by phone that he would never wear it. He didn’t know how hard it had been for her to make the sweater by hand.
Because it was snowing heavily, Luke drove slowly. By the time they arrived at the holiday center, it was late in the evening.
Mark was quite excited about going skiing for the first time. He asked his parents to let him go look around, and they agreed. Mark raced off to a nearby spot and Cindy kept an eye on him. When Luke removed their suitcases, Cindy helped him. Then she noticed Mark was nowhere to be seen.
Worried, Luke and Cindy tried to find him, but failed. They told the manager about the situation. He sent out a few staff members to help look for Mark.
Almost half an hour later, two of the staff observed a hand sticking out behind a tree. They discovered Mark, who was unconscious. He was brought to the hospital soon, but he didn’t wake up until a few hours later.
“It’s a good thing the boy was wearing a large sweater that kept most of his body covered and warm due to its large size. It was a typical case of hypothermia (体温过低),” the doctor said. “Do you remember what happened, Mark ” the doctor asked him.

If that vehicle fleet is electrified, you can also bring CO2 emissions close to zero.”
So in other words, just get rid of your car.

Neutral C. Critical D. Doubtful
【答案】12. C 13. A 14. B 15. B
【解析】
【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了直播带货这一种电子商务和营销销售方式,并且说明了其优缺点。
【12题详解】

【13题详解】

【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据最后一段中“Through the purchase of fake followers to increase shares and comments, some live streamers can falsify their rate of engagement to cheat brands and companies in an effort to win more trust and make more money.(通过购买虚假粉丝来增加分享和评论,一些直播者可以伪造自己的参与度,欺骗品牌和公司,以赢得更多信任,赚更多钱)”可知,直播主播通过创建虚假评论和分享制造虚假繁荣。故选B。

The main key to becoming good at sales is to spend the majority of your time selling.(我记得我做销售的时候做过很多没用的小事情。

根据上文“Being able to focus your actions on doing the few things that make the biggest impact on obtaining your end result is a skill.(能够将你的行动集中在对你的最终结果产生最大影响的少数事情上是一种技能)”以及后文“Your goals will be achieved faster and your life will improve greatly. Continue wasting your time on doing a lot of things that don’t matter and you’ll probably be where you are now a year from today and that’s a regret you can do without.(你的目标会更快地实现,你的生活也会大大改善。继续浪费你的时间在那些无关紧要的事情上,你可能会在一年后的今天成为现在的样子,这是一个你可以不后悔的遗憾)”可知,上文提到了一项技能,推测本句承接上文说明这一技能的作用:一旦掌握,你就会领先于大多数人。故F选项“一旦掌握,你就会领先于大多数人”符合语境,故选F。

He made a big snowball and tried to throw it far away. But suddenly he slipped and lost his balance, falling down on the ground, then he tried to call for help, but there was no response. He felt scared and cold, so he stayed where he was and pulled the oversized sweater over him waiting for rescue.
Mark now realized it was all due to his grandma that he was saved. He was wearing this oversized sweater, which kept him warm even though it was snowing and getting cold. He realized that it’s not just a sweater, it means grandma’s love for him. Then he was filled with gratitude and felt he was so lucky.
