教材分析 This lesson is from the textbook of Grade 6. The topic of jobs is related to Ss’ life and easy to arouse their interest and imagination. This lesson is a typical listening and speaking lesson. If the Ss can learn it well, it will be not only helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit but also helpful for them to improve their skills of listening and speaking.
学情分析 As we all know, students in Grade 6 can make simple conversations and they tend to be active and are more likely to engage in classroom activities. But they are not so similar with the complicated sentence patterns and tenses.
教 学 目 标 1. Knowledge Aims Help Ss to study the new words businessman, head teacher, phrases and sentences, such as –What does he / she do –He’s / She’s a / an ... –I want to be a / an …–He / She wants to be a / an … 2. Ability Aims Help Ss to develop the ability of using the important phrases and sentences to talk about jobs and their ideal jobs in the future in English. 3. Emotional Aims Encourage Ss to study hard and never give up when face difficulties. At the same time, get to know different jobs in order to let Ss cherish our happy life. What is more, it will help improve students’ confidence of learning English, and they won’t be afraid of speaking English.
教学重点 With the help of speaking materials, get the usage of the words and sentences to talk about jobs and Ss’ ideal jobs in the future.
教学难点 Learn the third person singular used in the Wh-question.

Post some pictures about different jobs on the blackboard. And then ask Ss to read the jobs and write down the words on the paper. Set a real situation about the Parents’ Day. The heroes Sarah and Oliver are talking about it. Ask Ss to predict the content of the listening material. Let Ss to listen and answer 3 questions about the listening material. Listen again and judge the 3 questions. Ask Ss to imitate the pronunciation and intonation of the whole dialogue. Retell the content of Let’s talk. Play a game to guess different jobs. Role-play, practice the sentence patterns of asking jobs. Group work, practice the sentence patterns of asking jobs and Ss’ ideal jobs.
