本模块以“旅游”为话题,旨在通过有关旅游景点的名胜古迹、地貌特征和风土人情,以及游客须知、家乡概况、假日旅游、旅行游记等环节的学习,使学生在扩大词汇量、提高英语水平的同时,丰富了地理和旅游知识,开扩了视野,更好地了解世界,培养了学生热爱大自然、造福人类的高尚情操。
二、教学目标

Step II PresentationFirst, ask the students to do Activity 1 on Page 44. Then show them a notice to visitors.T: Today we’re going to review the usage of some Modal Verbs. Please open your books, and turn to Page 44. Now let’s practice Activity 1 in pairs, using the correct Modal Verbs. Students think and answer the questions. 锻炼学生的观察能力。
Step III Rules of the ModalsFirst, get the students to practise Activity 2 on Page 44 in pairs. Second, ask them to summary the rules of Modals.T: Now let’s practice Activity 2 on Page 44 with your partner in pairs, according to Activity 1 and the notice to visitors. Try to find out the notes of using the Modals.A few minutes later, check the notes with the whole class. Students think and finish Activity 2 on Page 44 in pairs. 让学生巩固练习。
Step IV Practising First ask the students to practise Activity 3 on Page 44 by themselves, then give them an example to show what the Affirmatives, Nnegatives and questions with Modals. At last, ask the students to practise Activity 4 based on the sentences in Activity 3 in pairs.T: Now, let’s begin to practise Activity 3 on Page 44: Underline the correct verb.
