After shooting the suns in the sky, Houyi and his wife, Chang’e lived together on Earth. One day, Chang’e found herself getting old and she was sad. Houyi heard of a pill(丹药). It could help people live forever. So he went to find the pill for his wife. He went to the Kunlun Mountains. A goddess(女神) gave him the pill. She told him if a person took the whole pill he would fly to Heaven, but if he cut the pill into two halves and shared it with another person, they could live forever. Also, they must take the pill on the fifteenth night of the eighth month. Houyi went home.
