【教材分析】本课是新标准英语三年级起点第一册第八模块第一单元Is it a monster 本课的课文情境是在公园里，两个小女孩看到树丛后有奇怪的东西，于是做出各种猜测，她们越猜越害怕，最后被吓得呼救起来。在猜测的过程中，她们一直使用“Is it a… ”说出自己的猜测。她们已经看到了这个奇怪的东西的一部分，有一定的把握，但是不够肯定。这与前一模块用“What’s this/ that ”提问时的语境不同。特别要注意的是，当提问者对物品有一定把握，需要确认自己的猜测时，应使用“Is it … ”这种句型。
【学生学情分析】三年级学生系统地学习英语的时间不长，因此他们听、说、读的能力还比较薄弱，能进行比较简单又简短的对话。大部分学生敢于开口，热衷参加有趣的课堂活动，喜欢活跃的学习氛围。

【教学目标】
1.知识目标：
a.听说、认读monster, new, kite, or, don’t = do not, know, no, not(isn’t = is not), help。
b.听懂、会读Is it a … Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
c.认识一般疑问句的升调。
2.能力目标：
能运用Is it a … Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t. 就自己的推断进行交流。
3.情感、态度、价值观：激发学生学习兴趣，乐于就自己或他人的推断进行交流，学会运用英语中的呼救用语“Help!”
【教学重点】
1. 能正确理解，并在一定的语境中运用单词：monster, new, kite, or, don’t = do not, know, no, not(isn’t = is not), help。
2. 能运用Is it a … Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t. 进行推测及交流。
【教学难点】
能运用Is it a … Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t。进行推测及交流，注意Is it… it is, it isn’t等词的连读。
