形容词的原形。
2. 形容词的比较级
表示两者相比，一个比另一个更…，有比
较级的句中有than,且仅限于两者比较。

一、句子结构:
1. 形容词比较级常用的句型结构 (A和B比较)：
A + be动词+形容词的比较级+than +B
e.g. I’m taller than you.
You are thinner than me.
This ruler is longer than that one.
2. 副词比较级常用的句型结构：
“A + 动词 + 副词比较级 + than + B”。
e.g.
I got up earlier than my mother this morning.
我今天早晨起床比我妈妈还早。
Tina sings more loudly than Tara。
Tina 比 Tara 唱的更大声。
多数形容词和副词有三个等级：原级（形容词原形）、比较级（-er）和最高级（-est）。本单元主要学习形容词、副词的原级和比较级的构成及其用法。
一：同级比较的句型，即两者进行比较，表示“A与B一样……”
1. A + be + as 形容词原形 + as + B
Jack is as funny as Mike.
翻译：杰克与迈克一样滑稽。
翻译：克莱尔与休起得一样早。
Claire gets up as early as Sue.
2. A + 实义动词 + as 副词原形 + as + B

3. 表示一方在某一方面不及另一方时： 主语(第一个人物) + 谓语动词(否定式) + as / so + 形容词/副词原级 + as
He is not so / as excited as his younger sister.
翻译：他没他妹妹那么兴奋。
Lily did not ride her bike so / as slowly as an old lady.
翻译：莉莉骑车不像老太太那样慢。
注意1：not as/so…as 可与比较级进行同义句的转换
e.g.这个房间不如那个大。
This room is not as /so big as that one.
= That room is bigger than this one.
/ 那个房间比这个房间大。
同级比较歌诀
同级比较用原级，as…as…永不离。
若是否定加not，as…as…否前者。
as…as加not，说明两者有区别。
so…as加not，后者总比前者强。
注意2：原级前可用very，quite，too等副词修饰。
e.g. I'm very hungry.
My sister runs quite fast.
It's too hot here.
二：比较级的句型
两者进行比较，表示“一方比另一方更……”
1. A + be + 形容词比较级 + than + B
I’m more outgoing than you.
汤姆比鲍勃跳得更高。
我比你更外向。
Tom jumps higher than Jack.
2. A + 实义动词 + 副词比较级 + than + B
3. “Who / Which / What + be + 形容词比较级, A or B ”和“Who / Which / What + 行为动词 + 副词比较级, A or B ”。比较A、B两事物，问其中哪一个较……时用此句型。

4. “比较级＋and＋比较级”意为“越来越……” 。多音节比较级用“more and more＋形容词原级”形式。

事情变得越来越糟糕。
1. 单音节和少数双音节形容词、副词比较级的构成。不规则变化：
1) 在词尾加-er
tall — taller smart—smarter short — shorter high — higher fast --- faster
二、形容词、副词比较级的变化规则:
2) 以不发音的字母e 结尾的，加 -r
nice — nicer large — larger
fine — finer late — later
3)重读闭音节以一个辅音字母结尾的，先双写辅音字母，再加-er。
big — bigger fat — fatter
thin — thinner red — redder
hot — hotter wet— wetter
4)以辅音字母+y结尾的双音节词，先改y为i，再加-er。
happy—happier early— earlier
funny—funnier easy — easier
5)多音节词和部分双音节词要在前面加more
important— more important
delicious — more delicious
expensive — more expensive
outgoing — more outgoing
tired — more tired
serious — more serious
slowly--- more slowly
比较级有规律, 词尾加上-er两兄弟;
要是以e来结尾, 只有小二(r)跟上去;
重读闭音节词要牢记, 双写千万别忘记;
要是“辅音+y”来结尾, 小艾(i)要把y来替, 再加-er两兄弟;
多音节词加上m-o-r-e, 你看这样多容易。
