形容词比较级（1）
1.形容词比较级的概念
英语中大部分形容词用三种形式来表达事物的等级差别，分别是原级、比较级和最高级。本模块我们先来一起学习形容词比较级的用法。在对两者（人或事物）进行比较时，形容词要用比较级的形式。
2.形容词比较级的构成
单音节和少数双音节形容词比较级的变化规律如下：
构成方法 原级 比较级
一般在形容词原级的词尾加-er deep, high, tall deeper, higher, taller
以字母e结尾的形容词，在词尾直接加-r nice, fine, large nicer, finer, larger
以重读闭音节结尾，且末尾只有一个辅音字母的形容词，应先双写该辅音字母，再加-er thin, big, hot thinner, bigger, hotter
以“辅音字母＋y”结尾的形容词，先把y改为i，再加-er easy, busy, heavy easier, busier, heavier
3.形容词比较级的用法
（1）“A+be+形容词比较级+than+B.”意为“A比B更……”。如：
He is younger than me.他比我年轻。
（2）“比较级+and+比较级”意为“越来越……”。如：
It’s getting colder and colder.天气变得越来越冷了。
（3）“比较级+than+any other+单数可数名词”意为“比别的任何一个都……”。如：
China is larger than any other country in Asia.中国比亚洲其他任何一个国家都大。
（4）“Who / Which+谓语+比较级，A or B ” 意为“A和B，哪个 / 谁更……”。如：
Who is taller, Jim or Tom 吉姆和汤姆，谁更高？
（5）“the+比较级，the+比较级”意为“越……,就越……”。如：
The busier he is, the happier he feels.他越忙越高兴。
（6）“the+比较级+of the two”表示“两者中较……的”，用于强调其中一个（人或物）;表示特指，所以比较级前要加定冠词the。如：
Mary is the younger of the two girls.玛丽是这两个女孩中年纪较小的那个。
4.比较级前的修饰语
英语中常用来修饰比较级的程度的单词或短语有：a little，a bit，a lot，much，even，far，still，rather， any等；而too, very, quite修饰原级。如：
I feel even worse now.现在我感到更糟糕了。
It is much colder today than yesterday.今天比昨天还要冷得多。
