New opinion studies have found a majority of teachers believe technology is helping them do a better job in the classroom. But the research also shows that many educators are concerned digital devices can cause physical and mental harm to students.
One study asked higher education teachers to give their opinions on the use of technology in the classroom.Of those questioned,73 percent said technology made their jobs easier. While overall feelings about technology were good among college educators,an increasing number said technology could also be harmful.A total of 19 percent of those questioned said they felt technology had made their jobs harder or much harder.
Results of the survey also found teachers had good feelings about technology’s effects on learning.83 percent said they felt technology had positively affected their students’ learning.Just nine percent said technology did not affect students’ learning, while eight percent said they believed it had a negative effect. In releasing the study results, some teachers had expressed mixed feelings about the use of technology. These opinions came in the form of open-ended questions answered directly by educators.
The educators were not identified. One noted that the learning process can suffer if students depend too much on their devices.Another educator wrote:“Technology is accidentally increasing students’ weakness in reading and figuring things out (or critical thinking). They confuse clicking with learning.”Another expressed that while technology had improved learning in some areas,it had also created “a false sense of security” in others. The teacher said more research should be done on how to use the technology compared to traditional teaching methods.
Parents were mostly more supportive than teachers of digital devices and their effects on school-aged children. The study found that 87 percent of parents believed such devices were mostly helpful, while 13 percent said they were mostly hurtful.

The hospital I worked in during my stay in Swaziland sits in steep mountains. In this part of the world, people often have to walk 40 kilometres or more in order to see a doctor.
As you can imagine, there are many people who are simply too sick or too poor to get to a hospital. This is where home-based care comes in.The home-based care team consists of several nurses.Every morning they go there by a small truck to meet local people’s health needs.
One day we stopped at one of the 15,000 orphaned households in Swaziland.Inside the house we found a beautiful little girl. Her name is Tanzile.I gave her a sweet and she said something back to me in the native language, which the nurse next to me translated,“She wants another one, doctor—to give to her little sister.”
I gave her another. After we had checked a man with serious disease,we passed by Tanzile’s house to say goodbye. To our surprise, she seemed to be holding on to that extra sweet I had given her.
I remembered saying to the nurse.“This little girl is clever—she has taken two for herself.”But after the nurse had asked her some more questions,we learned the moving reality.
Tanzile is seven now.Two years ago, when she was five, her mum and dad both died of AIDS like so many have in this country. At the time of her parents’ death, she was separated from her baby sister.Tanzile has not seen her since. But ever since, whenever Tanzile receives anything from anyone, including food, she refuses to accept it,unless they give her two.She has been collecting gifts to give to her sister one day.
8.What can we know according to the text
A.The author is not Swazi. B.People in Swaziland are very rich.

C.she was open-minded D.she was a girl full of love
10.What is the best title for the text

During my last winter holiday, I went to countryside with my father to visit my grandparents. I find a big change there. The first time I went there, they were living in a small house with dogs, ducks, and another animals. Last winter when I went here again, they had a big separate house to raise dozens of chicken. They also had a small pond which they raised fish. My grandpa said last summer they earned quite a lot by sell the fish. I felt happily that their life had improved. At the end of our trip, I told my father that I planned to return for every two years, but he agreed.
