Have you seen the TV series Run for Young It tells about a group of teenagers who grow up together. They imagine becoming movie stars and running away from home. Their behaviour could be connected with the so-called “chuunibyou(中二病)”.
Chuunibyou comes from Japanese, which refers to the embarrassing behaviour of teenagers. Teenagers around 13 or 14
years old have more chances to have it, but it can happen to people of any age. Wang Liren, a professor at a university, said that when students reach the age of puberty (青春期), they want to show they’re different.
The teens often act as if they know everything. They believe they are cooler than others and can do great things. Some even believe they have special power and can save the
world. They believe that the whole world is wrong and only they’re right.
Actually, it’s not necessarily a bad thing . Although sometimes it may be a little silly, it shows the passion(热情)that young people have and the possibilities they dream of. As director Zhang Yibai said, “They’re young, but they want to become strong enough to fight the bad.” Chuunibyou doesn’t
