比较项 含义及用法 举例
look for 意为“寻找”，强调“寻找”这一过程，其宾语往往是某个东西或人 I looked for my pen everywhere, but I didn't find it. 我到处找我的钢笔, 但没有找到。
find 意为“找到，发现”，强调“找”的结果, 其宾语往往是某个东西或人 I lost my phone, and I must find it. 我把手机弄丢了, 必须找到才行。

divide 作动词时，意为“分开”， 指把一个整体分为若干部分或者平均划分，一般与 into 搭配 This apple is divided into two parts. 这个苹果被分成了两份。
separate 作动词时，意为“分开；分离”，指将混合物按不同类别分开，或者把紧紧连在一起的或者融合在一起的东西分开，一般与 from 搭配 Please separate the apples from the pears. 请把苹果和梨分开。
