用法
1. as well as 意为“也;还”。如:
He can speak Spanish as well as English. 他会说西班牙语和英语。
2. large quantities of=a large quantity of, 意为“大量的”。如:
Large quantities of polluted water is poured into the river. 大量的污水被排进了这条河流。
1. as well 常用作状语,意为“又;也”,相当于too或also,常位于句末。如:
I am going to London and my sister is going as well.我要到伦敦去,我妹妹也要去。

It seemed that nowhere was too far for him to visit. 似乎对他而言,没有什么地方是遥不可及的。
用法
1. It seems / seemed that … = It appears / appeared that …,后面跟从句,意为“似乎……;好像……”。 如:
It seems that he is an honest man. 他似乎是一个诚实的人。
2. nowhere = not … anywhere,意为“无处;哪里都不”。如:
There was nowhere for me to sit. 我无处可坐。
3. too … to … 意为“太……以至于不能……”。 如:
The button of the lift is too high for him to reach. 电梯按钮对他来说太高了,以至于他够不着。
too … to … 句型可以和so … that … 句型互换使用。以上例句3可以改为:
The button of the lift is so high that he can’t reach it.

such … that … 意为“如此……以至于……”,用来引导结果状语从句。如:

1. such … that … 的用法:
(1)such+a / an+adj.+可数名词单数形式+that 从句。如:
Jim is such a polite boy that all his neighbours like him. 吉姆是一个如此有礼貌的男孩,以至于邻居们都喜欢他。

2. so … that … 的用法:
so+adj. / adv. +that 从句。如:
