5、 Analysis of the textbook and students:
a) Analysis of the textbook: The topic of the unit is “Travelling”. Also, it arouses students to have the real emotion and interest as well as the practice of listening and speaking. The listening part introduces three cities in Asia, which enables students to know how to introduce a city and it also prepares for speaking part. The content in the speaking part is about introducing some cities of China.
b) Analysis of the students: As the students of Junior One, they know the Chinese names of some important cities in Asia. However, they are not able to tell their English names. It’s very necessary for me to teach the names and some new words with the help of the phonetics. I should develop their skills of prediction and how to answer questions with complete sentences. After listening practice, it’s possible and necessary for them to make a speech to introduce a city. Students can learn better through cooperate study. They can learn each other through the group work.

a. To acquire some important new words and useful sentence patterns, such as Bangkok, temples, and the capital of.
b. To learn about three cities in Asia by listening to some information.
2. Ability aim:
a) To develop the listening skills of predicting the information with the help of the pictures and key words.
b) To retell the information about three cities orally and introduce a city after listening.

a). To realize that they should love the world because there are many beautiful cities in the world.
b). To know they should be cooperative with others.

Step 2:Task B listening and complete(10 mins) 1. Have the Ss read the information card , guess the missing words.2. Require students to compare the structures of three information cards before listening. Ask them to share what kind of words they may write down.(5 mins)3. Ask some volunteers to share their conclusions4. Have the Ss listen twice and complete part A and B .5. Check whether students guess the correct answers. (2 mins) 1.
