Step 1 Warm-up
1. Present a picture of Deng Chao.
T1: Who is he
S1: …
T2: What clothes is he in
S2: …
So the man in white is Deng Chao.
Show a picture of Sun Li, and let Ss guess who is she according to her dress.
Use the following sentence structure: The woman in white (in red) is Su Li.
2. Present another picture of their children. Learn the new words: daughter, son, brother, sister.
T1: Who are they
S1: They are their babies.
T2: Sun Li is their mother and Deng Chao is their father. The boy is the their son and the girl is their daughter. (板书画线单词)
Step 2 Pre-reading
1.Go on presenting another picture of Sun Li’s parents. Learn the new words: grandparents, grandfather, grandmother.
T1: What color is her coat
S1: …
T2: Who is the woman in yellow
S3: She is Sun Li’s mother.
T4: She is the babies’ grandmother, too.
Lead students to make a sentence like this: The woman in yellow(in a yellow sweater) is Su Li’s mother.
2. Ask students to make similar sentences as the one above.
3. Ask students to look at the simple family tree. Review the new words.
Step 3 While-reading(了解阅读技巧)
1.T: We have learned Sun Li’s family. Now let’s look and understand 1a to look at Kangkang’s family.
T: Present a photo of Kang kang’s family. Ask Ss to do skimming and tell them how to skim.
2.Skimming(略读):根据图片、题目快速阅读全文,寻找一些简单信息。
1) Who is Kangkang in the photo
2) Who are Kangkang’s mom and dad
Ask students to answer by using “The ...in...is....”.
3.Scanning(扫读):找到定位词。
1) Look at the people in his family. Lead students to look at the form.
2) Ask students to read and understand 1a. Finish the form.
3) Check the answer use the sentence structure like this:
The young woman in red is Kangkang’s family.
......
4) Read for the third time and finish 1b.
5) Watch the flash of this passage
6) Draw the Kangkang’s family tree and review the words.
Step 4 Post-reading(小组探讨)
T: We have learned about Kangkang’s family. Now I want to learn about your family. 1) Draw your own family tree.
2) Introduce something about your family members.
